Just curious: opinion on SayaNagi? And another thing: I kind of like NagiMami, but only in a 'precocious crush' sense: Nagisa sees Mami as her senpai and has a big crush on her which Mami is oblivious to. Opinions on that?

I think all ships can work if you give them context and build up and take advantage of the strenghts and flaws each of the characters have, that should tell you if the ship is better romantic or merely friendly.

The problem with all the ships involving Nagisa is that she’s a little girl, like...REALLY little girl in the sense that she is VERY naive, innocent and childlike, so if you try to aproach her with romantic intentions, she’s probably not gonna understand it and if pushed, she might even react negatively like being afraid, so saying she can develop a crush is...very hard to justify because it just doesn’t fit Nagisa’s personality, that would be more ideal for Yuma, Catherine or maybe even Momo, but not for Nagisa, she’s more designed for sisterly and motherly relationships, not romantic ones (At least for now that she is young).

That being said, if you follow those rules, I think a ship between her and Sayaka is VERY fitting, Sayaka likes to protect people and in a more mature state, she might even develop a “Senpai Complex” like Mami, so Nagisa can fit the aprentice role very well, more so than Mami, Nagisa and Sayaka’s personalites blend in A LOT better due to both of them being playful and enthusiastic as opposed to Mami who is more calmed and methodical in her personality.

The problem with shipping Mami and Nagisa is that MOST people do it out of a morbid sense of humor for the whole Mogu Mogu thing and to some people, that is very distateful (myself included) in simpler words, they just ship them cuz episode 3, not just the fans but SHAFT as well and that is a VERY WEAK reason to ship them.

So I think Nagisa would connect much better with Sayaka, Kyouko or Madoka than with Mami.
