Hydrangea, Flower of Friendship, dedication and sincerity...

It has been a long time I wondering about something, a kind of flower. I tried to search the name of that flower, but I didn't find the answer. Till today, I saw a photo, one of my idol's photo which celebrated his birthday yesterday*saengil chukkae Keun Suk Oppa (•ˆ ˆ•)*. That photo is Keun Suk Oppa's birthday gift from his fans. Keun Suk Oppa received a bunch of hydrangeas flower. The kind of flower that I keep wondering till now, the name of that flower is Hydrangea. Finally I find the answer, hahahahaha =D

Hydrangea or Hortensia is is a genus of about 70 to 75 species of flowering plants native to southern and eastern Asia, North and South America. In most species the flowers are white, but in some species (notably H. macrophylla), can be blue, red, pink, light purple, or dark purple. In these species the color is affected by the pH of the soil; acidic which can be taken up into hyperaccumulating plants. For H. macrophylla and H. serrata cultivars, the flower color can be determined by the relative acidity of the soil: an acidic soil (pH below 6) will usually produce flower color closer to blue, whereas an alkaline soil (pH above 6) will produce flowers more pink (source: wikipedia). The name of Hydrangea came from Greece that means vessel because the shape of the flower looks like vessel and also because Hydrangea it self needs a lot of water. There is a lot of meanings of this flower, but generally this flower symbolize friendship, understanding and devotion. In Japan, this flower means pride.
