It's very easy for armchair intellectuals to say that every Indian immigrated from somewhere once upon a time so it's illogical for Assamese people to fight against #BangladeshiImmigration. But on ground reality, none of you have visited Assam and explored its diversed culture closely. As I have mentioned earlier, we have different tribes within ourselves with individualistic cultural heritage. We have differences- starting from eating habits to social norms. But all of them become one as Assamese and wear this 'gamusa' with pride as their identity. Now we don't really expect outsiders to come and settle permanently and create further differences with their own set of norms. You are welcome to avail healthcare, education and other facilities but you are not welcome to impose your hyper religious sentiments and culture that is completely alien to us. Secondly, NE has somehow started seeing development after three decades of extreme violence. We honestly don't have resources and economical strength to host further immigration. We already have them within us and honestly it's not easy to identify each and every one of them. What we want is 'no further immigration'. Nobody is taking gun in their hands in 2019 to wipe them out. Nobody is expecting an another 1984! That's why #NoCAA for us. At last, I would like to ask you if you are staying outside your hometown and staying in the metros for professional purpose - do you intend to impose your religious views and culture upon the natives? And if the answer is yes, then what would be the reaction of the natives?
