1. What is your main goal in life?
My main goal in life is to share whatever it is that life throws at me with those closest to me. There are a lot of things in flux for my future right now: career, city, country, etc. But even with all of that stuff I'm not really freaked out because my dreams have always revolved on that feeling of coming home from a day at the office to someone who loves me and basking in the glow of that affection when we share our days.
2. Can you play any instruments?
I can! I can play the trombone pretty decently. Sometimes I can pick up a bit of piano if I'm put in front of one for long enough but only very basic things there.
3. What are your favorite things to do in your spare time?
I love to read but because I've done so much of that for school I don't read as frequently anymore. Last weekend I was up at my friend's cottage and I got to lay in their hammock for about half an hour with the breeze from the lake coming up and running through my hair and just laying there and doing nothing was amazing after working for so long. I think I could use a bit more time like that.
4. Do you believe academic intelligence defines one’s worth?
It really doesn't. There are so many other things that are required. In particular I think the ability to be compassionate and friendly in the course of your business is essential and something that is often passed over for higher grade averages and ambition.
5. How do you feel about stereotypes?
I know that they are ways we categorize things. It's a limit of our mind that we do not have the space to fit every single individual's characteristics and so we generalize. That is what I know. I feel that we need to be very careful about what we allow to form these general impressions and actively examine them to check for inaccuracies.
6. Do you have any piercings? Where?
I do. I have my ears pierced in the usual place.
7. Do you want any tattoos?
No. I can never decide on what I would get or where I would put it.
8. How do you feel about shipping irl people together?
It depends on the level of your "shipping". In real life I would say that a solid approval of a relationship, done quietly in your head or mentioned in confidence to your friend in their relationship, can be a really good thing. Anything more than that, or for people who you do not personally know, is a bit invasive.
9. If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be?
If you'd asked me this a few years ago I would have answered somewhere exotic to me. Italy, Spain, the UK. Today I would say right where I am, in Canada. I know, I've gotten old, but there really is something amazingly comforting and wonderful about knowing a place inside out from having been raised there. Not to mention that I now have a greater appreciation for the kind of language and visa barriers that would be involved with my previous choices.
10. How would you define bravery?
Courage is doing what you're afraid to do. There can be no courage unless you're scared. ~Edward Vernon Rickenbacker
