Friends, For the past couple of months, my company, @americancitybusinessjrnls, has been following small businesses across the county as they navigate the coronavirus crisis. Today, that package—"Small Business, Big Mission"—landed with stories and photography documenting their journeys so far. The two companies I wrote about—health-tech startup @heal and card game company @gameofkittens—are actually growing during the pandemic. Other profiled businesses haven't been so fortunate. These are stories of struggle and pain, innovation and hope. You can read them all at smallbusinessbigmission.bizjournals.com. (I wrote about Nick Desai and Elan Lee) #SBBM https://www.instagram.com/p/CAva2depK-c/?igshid=1hwmsq27guoo2

Thanks again to everyone who had a hand in making Rockage 5.0 an incredibly successful event! Thanks to the bands, venues, vendors, volunteers and---- thank YOU! Showrunner Davain Martinez is departing for a game development career. The Rockage: San Jose torch has been passed on to South Bay Button Mashers to lead Rockage 6.0 and other events.
"I can say that every single second was worth it. I have emerged from this a changed man than I was when I started and I love the place I am in now. I will miss having a hand in guiding this project but I know that I’ve placed it in good hands." -Davain M.
"South Bay Button Mashers has supported the Bay Area games community for over two years, participating in Rockage 4.0 and 5.0, FanimeCon, Silicon Valley Comic Con, and much more. Rockage captures the excitement, nostalgia, and culture around video games that we embrace within the SBBM community; we're grateful for the opportunity to build on its successes like we have with our organization." -Nick P. (SBBM Founder)
