Today, the Brazilian Science is in mourning: R.I.P Professor Varela
José Arana Varela was Full Professor at Chemistry Institute, Universidade Estadual Paulista (UNESP), at Araraquara city, São Paulo State. He was one of the founders of Materials Science area in Brazil. Among other positions, he was president of São Paulo State Research Foundation (FAPESP), president of Brazilian Materials Research Society, founder and director of Innovation Agency at Universidade de São Paulo (USP). A great scientist, an amazing person. He will be missed.
