Dear Yamamoto Shuuji-sama,

I’m a 3rd year middle school girl currently lost looking for a future career path. I’ve always wanted to become an idol! But truthfully, I was going to give up on my dream because my parents told me to find something ‘proper’ to do but when I saw you guys perform, I don’t know what happened - I was really touched by how strong and amazing your group’s performances was and I knew I wanted to stand on a stage like that too to perform to other people! I know there are quite a few auditions that are happening and I want to try and go for them but I have no confidence…

Some people are telling me to go for it while others are saying it’s better not to try and embarrass myself... Do you have any advice Shuuji-kun? Onegaishimasu!

dinner for two || Kuon & Shuuji

Maybe he should have told his best friend beforehand, however it was definitely a treat to see his surprised expression. That was the purpose of the secrecy at least, to give Shuuji a pleasant surprise. Or at least, he hoped Shuuji found the news pleasant; they had not sat down and properly talked about the life changing opportunity yet. That is, until now. To celebrate, they bought a small cake just for the two of them and Kuon cooked dinner for the night. Kuon wasn’t exactly the best chef on the block but he surely wasn’t the worst either; he could cook simple dishes and when they decided to cut down on the take out food, Kuon would cook dinner on occasions. Tonight, he decided to make an old favourite of his: lasagne. He still remembers his godmother – who also happened to be their landlady – and her famous lasagne vividy; minced meat in a flavourful marinara sauce in between layers of pasta and topped with cheese. She had taught his mother how to cook it and in turn, she taught him. Of course nothing beats the original, but his mother’s and his attempts at replicating the scrumptious meal wasn’t too far off. And so after the lasagne had some time to cool a bit, he carried the glass baking dish to the dining table along with a serving spoon, placing it down gently.

"I want to keep dreaming a little longer."

Somehow (though not really because this wasn't exactly an uncommon occurrence between the two) without realizing it, Shuuji himself had fallen asleep with his head on Kuon's lap. They were in the living room watching television -- which was more of Kuon flipping through channels every half a minute or so if he deemed the program too boring for his tastes, if they were to be honest -- and Shuuji asked if he could lay his head onto Kuon's lap. The shorter male, being the ever so popular comedian he is, jokingly refused at first, of course, and explained how homoerotic the whole idea of sleeping on another male's lap if you were completely heterosexual sounded. But after a few whacks, he decided the act wasn't worth it if he honestly didn't care who slept on his lap.And so he allowed Shuuji to take a short nap and make use of his lap as his pillow. Kuon lowered down the volume of the television so his friend could sleep earlier but decided to continue flipping through channels, holding back a small whine when he reached back to the beginning after cycling through all the channels. After a few more dissatisfied sighs, he soon found a variety show that was somewhat entertaining and decided to stick to that.Not long after he decided to commit to a channel, Shuuji started to stir awake and he spoke. "I want to keep dreaming a little longer."Kuon laughed lightly and almost raised a hand to hit Shuuji's head gently but thought against it. Instead, he chose to encourage Shuuji and he murmured softly, a little tease in his voice. "I don't want to know what you've been dreaming about, but so long as it's anything about me then you can nap some more. I'll be here when you wake up and we can make dinner then."

He can't believe he had been convinced (more like forcefully dragged, if he was to be honest) yet again to visit the AKB Cafe. Not once, oh no, but twice has he already gone in his lifetime and he can only hope this would be the last. Maybe he was being a tad bit melodramatic, because from his memory of his past visit it wasn't actually so bad; the food itself was decent, and the atmosphere was nicer than he would like to admit.

Now that he thought about it, Kuon was more worried for his best friend Shuuji. By some miracle, his friends had managed to convince the BYS member to tag along despite his protests (Kuon protested too, for his own sake and Shuuji’s) and assured him that he wouldn't be noticeable in a disguise, which simply made Kuon snort in disbelief. "Like for real if a fan of his happened to be there, they wouldn't notice him," he thought to himself. "They probably have the back of his head memorized by now, I'm sure a pair of sunglasses and a scarf or something won't stop them."

A cute waitress attended to them at the entrance and they were ushered to a long table that could seat six people. Upon reaching their designated table, he sat down beside Shuuji and took the menu from the waitress with a kind smile. Almost instantly when she left, his friends started going on about how cute she was and how she looked great from behind. Not feeling in the mood to join in their conversation, Kuon merely whacked their heads with his menu and he scolded in the midst of a laugh. "You idiots, not so loud!"

Kuon placed down onto the living room floor the last of his boxes and he heaved a barely audible sigh. It was the final day of moving in to the new apartment he would be sharing with his good old pal Shuuji and since yesterday, his father had graciously helped them transport their things from their homes to the apartment using the family van. Kuon was truly grateful for his father’s help, and it brought a smile to his face when his father even volunteered to be of service to the pair.

When he had announced to his family his plans on moving out with Shuuji, they were definitely supportive of his decision, however that didn’t stop Mrs. Akamine from lamenting how much she’d miss having a food tester who wasn’t afraid to voice out his true opinions despite the slipper that would fly right at his face, or his younger brother from teasing about how his ‘homoerotic’ relationship with Shuuji could grow even more than it already has. He would definitely miss waking up to his mother’s shouts of how it was already noon and he should get his lazy ass out of bed, but it would be fun too to wake up with his face full of drawn hearts and phallic-shaped objects courtesy of his roommate. He knew that he would feel homesick every now and then, but having someone who he was comfortable with and used to having around wouldn’t be so bad.

He walked over to the couch and flopped down onto it, resting his arms on the backrest and taking a few moments to really see where he would be staying from now on. They had rented out a rather spacious 2LDK apartment a distance away from the nearest train station, but it was definitely a steal given its size and the price of rent. Kuon could already picture himself laying down face flat on the living room floor, or rolling over to his bedroom as Shuuji kicks him to bed after falling asleep yet again on the couch.

Kuon closed his eyes and a smile formed on his lips. I think this’ll be fun.
