Kris shoots up straight as soon as she hears Silver’s voice. It's bad enough for anyone to see her openly crying, but Silver, of all people...

Well, she has no idea how to actually handle that. A few seconds pass without her saying anything, or even turning to face him, as her mind races to think of some way to excuse herself.

“...I’m... fine,” she eventually replies. “Very much fine. What... brings you out here?”

...A pretty terrible excuse for a denial, especially when the tears are still fresh on her face.

kanto was so similar to johto that she honestly forgot where she was at times. goldenrod city had the same feel to it as celadon-- lavender to ecruteak. pewter didn’t quite have a twin in johto that she’d noticed, but in terms of location it felt similar to violet city thanks to the mountains nearby. it was these mountains she took an interest in now, though maybe not for the reasons one might expect from the champion of johto.

target sighted and locked on. the girl raised a hand cheerfully in the air in greeting. the arcanine at her side gave a rumble that could be either a sign of displeasure or the beginnings of a friendly ‘boof’.

Of all the alternate versions of people she was familiar with... this was the most awkward. Kris and her own Silver had a particular history together, and she couldn’t help but be reminded of that.

She was also desperately hoping he hadn’t noticed her looking.
