I drew the Priest from GHOST’s new song, Scapeg♾at. The very first second I saw them, I decided they were my favorite. And then I saw GHOST say that they represent someone who’s being held responsible for other people’s emotions, and I quite honestly felt called out.

The second image is zoomed in on the face bcuz it’s harder to see the details normally.

Ghost came out with a new song and just,,,,,god did I relate to it soooo fucking much. It’s such a fucking banger too, but the meaning and lyrics made me cry because I see myself in it so so much heh

i have thoughts on the new GHOST song so here i go (also this is just how i interpreted the song, not at all a "THIS IS CANON" post)

from what was seen in the pv, the song features four characters who, from the lyrics, have been "wronged" in some way by the faceless character (who i'll call Faceless). They appear to attend Faceless' funeral, but not so much out of respect but more of doing the "right thing." The idea that they're trying to show they're better than Faceless is reinforced by the lyric, "Now, I could never dream of doing anything in such a way like you did to me."

the song could be about the relief and joy they feel after Faceless' death, who was possibly an abuser of the four. in the song there are mentions of cycles, and, from how Faceless is portrayed, it makes me think of the term "cycle of abuse". theres also a line from the robotic character that states, "Nothing in me resembles a human heart." from all the abuse they've endured, the character feels broken and like a shell of a person, only holding bitterness and contempt. I feel like the character's design drives this narrative home; how they're the only one in the group who looks robotic and the hole in their chest where they're heart should be

the lyric "I'm existing out of spite" can be to show how after the abuse, they're living on to prove they're stronger(?)

as the song progresses, we see our four singers harming Faceless which could mean a few things. perhaps this is to show what they WANTED to do to Faceless or showing that they're the ones who are RESPONSIBLE for Faceless' death

However, the song is called "SCAPEG♾AT", or "SCAPEGOAT" which leads me to wonder if Faceless was innocent in some way and the singers are blaming them for their own unfortunate circumstances.
