Lesser Known Horror Recommendations Part 2

Mimesis: Night Of The Living Dead (2011)- A group is kidnapped and forced to recreate Night Of The Living Dead. Are they actually in the movie, or is something more sinister going on? Watch to find out, it’s a pretty cool flick!

The Sleeper (2012)- Kinda like a remake of Black Christmas in some ways, this movie tries to have a retro feel to it, and while it mostly fails at that, it’s still worth a watch. A killer called The Sleeper torments a sorority house. Watch if you liked the original Black Christmas!

The Drownsman(2014)- After a near death experience, a woman is left with a fear of water, and a strange connection to a ghostly serial killer. One of the best on this list, with such a cool slasher, it’s got some fun water-themed deaths and a great mystery element.

Mischief Night (2014)- A babysitter is targeted on the night before Halloween by a strange, masked killer, but not all is as it seems. A twisty movie that’s not without its flaws, it’s pretty unique and turns the conventions of the genre on its head in a neat way.

Curve (2015)- On her way to her wedding rehearsal, a woman picks up a hitchhiker after he fixes her car, but he’s more dangerous than he lets on. Kinda a survival thriller/slasher, very tense. Even my non-slasher-fan friend loved it!

To Your Last Death (2019)- An animated horror about a woman trying to undo the deaths of her siblings at the hands of their twisted and cruel father. This movie is completely unlike anything I’ve ever seen and it’s a wild ride. Seriously worth a watch.

Scare Us(2021)- While a serial killer is on the loose in their town, a group of friends gathers in a bookstore to share scary stories. Nothing particularly new or unique, but I found myself surprisingly invested, and some of the stories were genuinely eerie.
