yeah plus Richard going to NY would be weird and history-interrupting… and they wouldn’t really have anything in common with him without Jimmy. And he isn’t like them at all, in terms of mentality. Gahhhh s3 needs to be good…

Agreed, Richard can't go to NY. He's not going to go to Chicago either (WHICH OH MY GOD I THINK I MAY BE MOST EXCITED ABOUT CAPONE VS. VAN ALDEN TBQH) and I cannot see him going back to Nucky. His only option right now is Gillian. Perhaps he branches out, maybe he and Owen strike up an unholy alliance, who knows, but I really think that even though he accepted Jimmy walking to his death, it's still going to hang over his head and he's going to stay with Jimmy's family for a little bit.

And as far as season 3 goes, it's been made clear that while season 2 was Nucky vs. Jimmy, season 3 will be Nucky vs. Margaret. After season 2 (which confession time, I was more exasperated with Margaret's religious storyline last season than the 'Jimmy Darmody as Prohibition Hamlet' storyline), Nucky vs. Margaret needs to be really, really good, and they need to step up with Margaret's characterization.

I'm not that familiar with Mysterio, so I was wondering about the villains involved, if they'd do that. The one thing Sadie and I keep saying is that how they glossed over Magneto's involvement is pretty convenient.. since a Holocaust survivor wouldn't participate in a mutant genocide so easily? He must have either snapped, or been unaware of what they were doing until after it happened.. which might explain how it was easy for Bruce to overthrow him.

Yeah, that was the only part I didn't like and was confused by. I think the latter explanation makes much more sense. The idea of Magneto committing genocide of mutants is... yeah, really far-fetched and doesn't make sense for him, so it would've had to have been something really extreme for him to be involved at all, or he just didn't know until he was too far in.

I also wondered why the Hulk became a villain, but that just might be because I'm not familiar with him too much.

But no, Mysterio I could definitely see doing what he did. I had no problem believing that whole scene.

I might change my mind when I read it again, but the first two scenes that come to mind are when Wolverine bursts out of the Hulk's stomach, just because it was so awesome, and also when Logan reveals the reason he's become a pacifist. That whole part was just... god, utterly heart-wrenching. And I've always wondered if Mysterio would ever do something like that. I've only ever read him in the old Spider-Man comics, where I don't think they would have ever done something that dark, but man. Amazing.
