“Look, what am I gonna have to do to convince you to let me follow you around and watch what you do? Do you want me to be your maid for a month or something?” It was rare for Rudy to idolize or view someone as being better than him but Jason was the exception. He was a handsome killer who seemed to have much more experience than him and many more tricks up his sleeve. All Rudy wanted to do was learn his techniques and watch him work his magic. There was so much he could learn from him and he wanted to learn it all. “Come on, just for a day or two!”

Visiting Izzie and Lucky after his brother’s break-up wasn’t exactly something he would normally do but seeing his older brother upset wasn’t something he liked to see. Miller wasn’t doing his job, he was distracted and emotional. Maybe convincing Izzie to get back together with him was the way to go. Or maybe not.

When she had gotten home, it was easy to simply sneak up behind her and ease her into sleep with an arm around the neck. Getting her limp body to travel the distance to the bedroom was another story and she had a few rug burns on her legs that were still bright red. With her handcuffed to the bed, all firearms and weapons removed from the drawers, and Lucky in his arms, he sat on the floor across from the bed so whenever she woke up, she’d see him. Lucky yipped a few times and Rudy threw her toy up in the air which she caught with excitement. It had taken quite a few treats to get her to trust him.

“Who’s a good doggy? You’re a good doggy!” He grinned and clapped his hands a few times which made Lucky's tail wag harder.

“Okay? Does that mean it’s totally wrong of me to look back on that kiss and think that ‘holy fuck she’s a great kisser’?”

“We are not going down that alley. That alley leads to talk shows and lots of therapy,” she answered, rubbing her forehead. “Why did you even tell me this? I was fine not knowing you’re into kissing your sister.”

        There remained only a hint of aggression in her voice, nothing compared to the first few days. She was exhausted, having not slept more than ten or twenty minute intervals at a time before jarring awake in fright. Much of her spirit was worn down.

                   “It’s cold and I’m tired. I just want out.                                     I don’t want to fight.”

“You sure look like a young bitch to me.”

He snickered, his boots scuffing the floor as he took a small step towards her. Rudy felt his heart soar with pride and giddiness at seeing her in this state. To say he was enjoying this was an understatement.

“I’m not letting you out until I get some solid information.”

Rudy sat on Izzie’s bathroom floor with little Lucky sitting next to him. He drew his knees up to his chest and rest one arm on his knee. He scratched the dog’s head with his free hand and smiled as she sniffed his coat, the brief happiness was a nice feeling after sitting there crying for a good hour or so. Rudy’s face was slightly red from the tears and wiping away the paint he had put on his face to scare Sarah even more. None of that mattered now, he had just killed his little brother to put him out of his misery. He had just lost his best friend and he had no where else to go. A pair of footsteps approaching signaled that Izzie was home and Lucky turned to focus on her owner.

“Seth died...my little brother.” He snuffled and blinked away a few tears before looking up at Izzie. “I don’t wanna go back to base yet, I can’t go back and tell Mom and Miller about what happened.”

Seth buried his head deeper in Rudy’s chest. The pain that his disease was causing him was getting bigger and bigger with every passing day. He didn’t know how much time he had left, and the thought of dying terrified him. All he wanted right now was to be held by his brother, and to spend as much time as he had left with him.

“N-no. It’s not. But thank you for being here.” he mumbled.

"That’s what brothers are for, right?” Rudy hugged his little brother against his chest and then awkwardly wrapped his arms around him. He wasn’t used to comforting people, it wasn’t a job usually delegated to him but Seth was the exception. Taking care of his little brother was his job and now that Seth was dying, he’d let him cry into his shirt for ten days straight if that’s what made him happy.

“I hate seeing you like this.” He rubbed his back and then hesitated before placing a gentle kiss on the top of Seth’s head. “Mom’s gonna want to put you in a hospital, ya know that? They’ll probably give you medication to make it better.”

“I don’t exactly enjoy people sneaking up on me.” Rudy murmured as he turned around to face the woman. He expected the person to be much larger but she was still quite menacing. After a quick once over, he knew she was carrying at least one gun but by the way she was dressed and how she carried herself, he knew she didn’t have just one weapon. “Mind telling me why you’re here? I know it’s not for a friendly chat over some tea.”
