Rhinoplasty through a closed approach. This patient had a hump prior to sustaining a fracture when a shoe was thrown across the room into her face. The nose became crooked, the hump got worse, and she could not breathe through her nose. So through an endonasal (closed) rhinoplasty approach, I lowered the hump, straightened the septum, fixed the bony problems with osteotomies, treated the balance problems with spreader grafts and made the.tip ‘cuter.’ An interesting point about this case and other closed rhinoplasty operations I perform: there is a ton of hype about techniques as being better or worse that other techniques. I was contacted yesterday asking if I EVER did closed rhinoplasty. The implication was that closed is better. My answer was: I can do rhinoplasty lists of different ways. I’m not pigeon-holed to any one single technique and I don’t market techniques. If I do any marketing push at all, it’s all about the results. If you look at the before and afters on my website, my Instagram, and on the reviews, you get a sense of the style I like for every kind of nose. Then you can make some choices.
