Valentines Special: Scarlet & Rinaldo Addition
Scarlet clicking her heels is so satisfying to me. I love her in this one and all her attitude. Rinaldo sure knows how to pick them. Co-written as usual with @zennihilation
Also taking the picrew zen made for them ✨
Scarlet’s heels clicked at Rinaldo's door, her hand banging on the door. Her hair is pinned up in proper curls and her lips stick more red than usual. Her dress is a dark red, silk in texture but fitting her quite well. The jewelry and makeup really make the look more elegant. She was dressed to the nines, and she was furious. “Open up, Rinaldo De Riva.” In her other hand a bouquet of roses.
He looked her over at the door. Once he was sure there wasn't a sign of duress, he tossed a knife to one side. “You have a key.”
“Do I look like I have it presently?” She shoved the bouquet in his hands, “Act like you bought these for me.” She turned around then faced him again, “Oh rinaldo you shouldn’t have, it’s beautiful. What a great gift from my valentines!” Her eyes met his, in a deep stare
“I know you have it.” He looked down at the flowers for a moment. “Huh. Is that today? I didn't know you celebrated it.”
She snatched the flower from him, “I usually don’t but considering we are in a relationship Rinaldo, yes I want to celebrate it with you. And yes I do have it. I’m not just not reaching in my bra to grab it when you can open a door for me like a proper gentleman. Especially for today.”
“I've never been in a relationship before, so this will be a first for me. You do look very nice.”
“I know I look nice, I dressed according to your preferences, now get ready.”
“My preferences?” He went to his room and pulled out clothes to match.
“I did say that yes. Besides the lipstick, I wanted more red than usual.” She followed him in holding her bouquet, “You better know where to go eat Rinaldo.”
“Well, I'll see what I can do about reservations. What about where I took you the last time?”
Scarlet smacked him, “You can’t repeat a date! Think again!”
“We both like that place, and they take my reservations. Not repeating a date is insane.”
“Not for holidays! Think again! I’m not going.” She sat down on his bed crossing her arms
“No, you’re making me do this, we’re going,” he grumbled, pulling on his trousers and shirt.
Scarlet opened the drawer to find one of the daggers she had hidden within his room, throwing it his way.
Rinaldo let the knife fly past him and peg itself into the wall. He frowned a bit as he pulled on his jacket. “That wasn’t necessary.”
“It is when you’re being a prick. There are plenty of other options for an occasion such as things and you’re treating it like any other day. When do you see me dressed up outside of contracts.”
“I thought you were on a contract!”
“Clearly I am not! You know what.” Scarlet stood up stomping her heel, “forget it, You, don’t get it. I can’t force you to get it. I’m going to change.” She looked through the drawer, frustrated.
Rinaldo grabbed her by the wrist and pulled her over. “Can you give me a chance?”
Scarlet met his eyes and sighed, “I’m trying not to force you to care. Isn’t that what a good lover is supposed to do? When you do things like this it makes me feel….bad. Forcing you to care for something you may not want.”
“We went out last week which is why I’m surprised today is this important to you when you said nothing about it. But I also told you I would give you everything in my power to give you, so we’re going.” He sighed, “It is rather last minute. If you don’t mind something different than just dinner, there is something we could try.”
“I have nothing to say other than I would just think people in relationships would just know. But I suppose we aren’t exactly a normal couple. I’ll wait then, I’m fine with dinner or something else if you have something in mind. I just want to spend it with you.”
“Again, this is my first relationship. I was never allowed one before. In fact, I was often discouraged from going out on Valentine's day at all as it would give the wrong idea. I suppose that’s why I just spend it by myself.” He shrugged and led her to the door. “You said before I owe you a dance.”
“So you’re willing to go out with me, despite being discouraged?” Scarlet didn’t really want to know the answer, her heel clicked against the floor. “Yes…you do owe me a dance.”
“I never said I wasn’t willing. I’d rather have time to plan. However, I believe I have heard of an open festival in one of the plazas. We may be a bit overdressed, but I don’t mind.”
“I like being dressed up for important things so I don’t mind.” Scarlet smiled, “I’d like that. A festival huh.”
He nodded. “They should have a few food stalls and dancing.”
Scarlet fixed the collar of his shirt, “Alright, then fine. Are you ready?”
He smiled and kissed her. “Ready. I will remember next time.”
