Barry knew all too well what it felt like to have everyone you loved being taken away from you. Having lost his mom and now his dad. Nearly losing his friends so many times. That kind of pain, it never went away. That aching fear of letting anyone close to you because you’re too afraid to loose anyone else. He understood her fears. “There’s goodness in you too Wanda.” Barry said softly. That was something he always believed. That despite what she, and most of the world thought of the Scarlet Witch, she deserved far more than she got. "The only thing you are capable of is making me more good. Because you bring out the best parts of me." He reached upwards, his hand gently cupping her cheek. A small smile curled upon his lips as he pressed a light kiss to her lips. “Suffering is inevitable. It’s not something we have control over. But as long as i’ve got you, I know i’ve got nothing to be scare of. Because if we’re together, I know we can face anything.” Not that he didn’t let negative thoughts plague his mind more often than not. But being with Wanda helped keep his demons at bay most days.

Of course he knew his actions were wrong. But if he were given the chance to do it again, he still would. Yes, it was wrong, but it was the only way that he saw fit to fix everything. It was selfish and dangerous, he knew, but he didn’t regret it. Yet, hearing the way Wanda spoke to him about it, it hurt, stung just a little. “I’m not gonna lie, i’d probably say the same thing.” Barry said with a sigh, shaking his head. “Do you really think I wouldn’t? No matter what you do, no matter how bad it gets, I would always forgive you Wanda. No matter what.”

Arms wrapped around her form. Pulling her close and feeling her face buried in the crook of his neck offered him comfort and a sense of warmth that only she could instill in him. He hugged her just a little tighter. “Good.” He said as his own face leaned angst her shoulder. His voice nearly a whisper against her. “What would I do without you?” He said with a light chuckle. Though it was a rhetorical question because he knew he wouldn’t have to imagine such a thing.

Barry wouldn’t deny, when he’d heard the news he was filled with nervousness. The news was unexpected and took him by complete surprise. But it was good news. News that brought a wide smile to his lips. It made him nervous but also happy. Because despite everything, he always knew he wanted a family. To be a dad half as good as Joe and Henry. To be able to have that with Wanda made his heart swell. “Don’t get me wrong, I totally am.” He said with a light chuckle, rubbing at the back of his neck. “But i’m also incredibly happy. Nervous and anxious too, but also happy.” He said with a grin.

It had taken Barry all the nerve he could muster to ask her such a simple question. He really wished he could take a few shots and feel the buzz for more than a few seconds to gain that liquid courage even for a brief moment. He had hesitated a few times before actually asking. He bit down on his lower lip, anticipating her answer. “Yeah? I mean–you don’t have to on account of me. Just though i’d offer. It’s good seeing you again. How are you?” Oh, now he was rambling. He rubbed at the back of his neck when he realized he was. Instead of letting him mouth run some more, he flagged the bartender down. “What would you like?”

Before Barry could even get an answer however, someone came onto the other side of the bar. Leaning in close to Wanda. He couldn’t hear what he’d said to her, but judging by her expression, it wasn’t anything she liked. His brows furrowed for a moment before he walked around to the other side of her, putting himself between the two of them. Attempting, but surely failing to size up the man. “Can’t you tell when a lady isn’t interested buddy? I’d appreciate it if you lay off my girlfriend.”
