Massive shout out to scarsofvengeance for being such a brilliant Thief King Bakura. In my opinion the most in character Thief King out there, and so much fun to RP with, and so respectful, and I get chills when I read their writing

“...”
There was an audible sigh as Alibaba pressed his back to a wall; the dusty stone surface of a tavern not too far from the edge of the captial city’s limits. Since returning to Balbadd and agreeing to cut ties with Sindria to join the Kou Empire’s first prince as his subordinate, it wasn’t like the former prince of the country got a lot of time to himself. And what little time he did get, was spent milling over the thoughts that seemed to pound the inside of his mind—like now, for instance.
And maybe that’s why Alibaba had let his guard drop for once, lost to his internal conflicts again; completely oblivious to anyone or anything prowling the shadows around him.
Marik placed down the scroll he had been reading and scrubbed at his tired eyes. The darkness was sitting heavily around him, pressing down against his hunched-over body and only just held at bay by the meagre candle flickering in front of him. It was cool in the tomb at night. In truth, Marik wasn’t sure exactly what had brought him down here. Some foolish nostalgia, no doubt, better quenched than followed.
With a soft, irritated sigh, Marik grasped his candle and got to his feet. He left the scrolls open on the desk and turned, his creaking lungs seeking fresh, cool air out of the stuffy underground. His footfalls echoed through the corridors as he made his way back out into the open desert. The sky stretched out before him, speckled with stars, and he stretched with closed eyes. He should head back to the city soon, but for now, he was enjoying the peace of the outside.

“Hey, you.” Alibaba was quick to call out. Whatever the other was doing here, he was going to find out. “What do you think you’re doing back here, anyway? Isn’t it a little late to be sneaking around like no one would notice?”

It was pouring rain, the droplets would not let up. It was cold, and Yugi was tired, the only sound were the pitter-patter of his sneakers hitting the pavement. A sigh was released from dry lips as the short teen continued on his way from school. It had been a rough day, filled with bullies, unwanted fights and unfortunately, bruises of all kinds across lithe skin. The young boy winced as a hand gently touched his skin, it hurts—it was the understatement of the year, really.
Being nothing else that the little one could do, he simply bobbed his head in a slow motion as Mother Nature’s tears fell upon him. The walk would be good for him, being able to clear his head and— there was a man. The first thing that drew his attention to said man was the bronze that was tainting his epidermis. The color of copper. Sure, it was always sunny in Domino City but not enough to make a tan such a deep color. It seems like this man too, was having a bad day that, or he wasn’t sure where to go. In a way, this other human-being was having it worse than he. Stopping in his tracks, Yugi stopped as the two started to part way, turning—”Excuse me, sir. I don’t mean to pry, but you’re not from around here, are you?”
“I don’t have time to play tour guide.”
--- Ja'far was already in a cranky mood. It had been a while since he'd been in a desert so he had forgotten just how much sand got every where. The heat did little to help with his mood either. It was evening too... shouldn't it have cooled off already? "I never asked you to play tour guide. All I ask was where the closest city was."
