If you think Slenderman is scary, you hAVE to watch The Nightmare, the docu ab sleep paralysis, and or at least the first 20 mins, and listen to the scariest fucking sleep scary stories EVER
Sparked by my graphic-novel buy today, I decided to watch Supersize Me for the first time. I know, it seems a little crazy that I work at McDonald's and have never seen this movie or something. But that all changed today.
Maybe as a crew member, you'd expect me to be used to the craziness of the fast-food culture that we live in; however that is not the case. I feel like I was just as shocked watching the movie as someone who's never heard of McDonald's would be seeing it. I can't believe it. I am appalled. And worst of all, I work for this place. I.. encourage it?
Of course, some of the things I am used to. Such as the fact that like 50% of the customers are regulars and blah blah blah. But I could not believe the horrible effects that the food had on the man's body. It makes me incredibly happy that I only eat about 4% of the food that we "make." And that may change soon as well.
Worst of all, I don't know how to move forward from this movie. Am I appalled enough to get a different job or intrigued enough to continue working and study what goes on in more depth? Am I desperate enough for the money? How can I stop being a part of this terrible process while still working for it? I feel that I need to pick a side, but am I already choosing one by being a McDonald's crew member in the first place?
