When you travel, do you have someone stay overnight with the kittens, visit daily, or just check in every other day or so?
I don’t ask folks to stay over (though they could if they wanted) -- and visit frequency depends on who I can get to do it. Usually it’s friends and their situations vary. Like, Auntie A lives so close to me that she can come over every day or most days and it won’t be a huge inconvenience; if I ask someone else they usually have to drive there, find and pay for parking, etc so I don’t ask them to come every day. The kittens do fine if someone comes every other day, though for litterbox purposes it’s not ideal.
Most agencies that do drop-in visits require you to order daily visits, which I understand, and which is really best for them in any case. But they’ll be fine for a few days on their own, especially now that they’re a bit bigger. And they’re not food hogs so I don’t have to worry they’ll scarf all their food on day one and starve for two days before someone shows up to refill the kibble bowls.
