Fanfiction planning #2

So, I’m working on one of my entries for the KakaIru Maze Challenge 2021. Last time I only had the one-paragraph idea but now I am close to a two-page synopsis that makes up the plot. I thought I was never going to be able to write a longer synopsis since I write mostly in the spur of the moment, but I did tonight~~~ Yay me!!

Next, I am going to be transferring my story into the Jami Gold’s Romance Beat Sheet. I’m feeling quite up to that task as I will be picking out the main plot points (not that I'm really sure what a plot point is though) from the synopsis and checking if there is a beat missing.

What I still can’t wrap my head around are the scene cards...... I’m going to try to find ones that have already been filled out and with the corresponding full text for comparison. Another thing I’m thinking of doing is taking a fic I have written in the past and summarize the chapters into corresponding scenes. Maybe that will help me unlock something... I found this checklist Jami Gold’s Elements of a Good Scene Worksheet that I am going to try to use to overview my scenes. I dunno, I suppose practice makes perfect, and I just have to give it a go!

I started working on scene cards for my novel tonight. It was an interesting way of partitioning my novel. It made me look at it in a different way. I am going to keep making them for the entire work in progress that I have right now.
