SCENTED SPACES: in NYC's "Earth Room" artist Walter de Maria filled large room full of pure dirt, bisecting the room and creating a juxtaposition between artifice and nature. Another way to experience the room is through inhaling deeply. The scent of dirt seems overpowering and essential, bringing up memories and disconcerting the senses. Go anytime and sit for 20 minutes.
