Other than that, there’s an underlying natural scent of dog, a natural musk, motor oil, and pine sap. He spends time working with his hands, hence the oil, and isn’t a stranger to the woods.
An avid fisherman he sometimes carries the scent of the stream, whatever the weather may permit that to be.
Depending on the timeline, there’s a sharp, fevered sweetness to him. He often smells of coffee grounds and dark chocolate up close.
Sometimes he carries the scent of pomegranate and blood orange on his hands, two of his favored fruits.
And more often than not, there’s a copper and rust tang of blood stinging from him.
