Behold, those impressive shapes and design lines. Looking like a strange lovechild between a Ferrari LaFerrari and a Koenigsegg supercar, this project should come to mind the next time you talk about ultra fast and cool rides. The SCG003S was designed by Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus – hence the name – and, although some might criticize the odd name, none can help but stare at it.
Startup Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus is where the SCG comes from, with the S standing for “stradale,” while the track-only SCG003C having been unveiled at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show. The latter features a carbon fiber structure, designed for maximum rigidity and flexibility in packaging. The rear carbon fiber frame holds the suspension pick, which can be easily exchanged. Powered by a twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter V6 engine (600 hp), based on a Honda unit, mated to a Hewland sequential unit with paddle shifters, this bad boy should be pretty fast. Better yet, the race version of the SCG003 can be easily converted to a road version – or the other way around.
The SCG003S road car is expected to offer buyers a choice of engines, with low weight and aerodynamic efficiency contributing to incredible performance numbers. The cost of such outrageous design? According to SCG founder, 2.1 million euros (approximately $2.35 million) for the SCG003S, with the SCG003C bringing in an additional 750,000 to 1 million euros ($840k to $1.12 million).
