... The voices won and made me create a self-indulgent AU again. Because I'm CRAVING "Tenna as a caretaker/mentor" content fr and I think these two would get along well. (More info about this in the tags)

i wanna know how he got de-puppeted. does the narrative want him to be doomed or not?

AS FOR YOUR QUESTION!!!

It would take. sort of a WHILE to answer in complete details how it happened. But basically I'm a sucker for the puppetification HC (think how manofthepipis approached it in "Beyond Repair". Literally).

And I thought "Hey, imagine he somehow cuts all of his strings that still connect him to his benefactor, and instead of collapsing, his code slowly heals until it changes again and he isn't a puppet anymore?"

The first stages are slow, with him regaining some traits of his old self (some feathers poking out here and there, his senses coming back, or de-shrinking somewhat lmao).

Though that happens after A GOOD AMOUNT of character development and whatnot. And while the process of it sounds innocent enough, he's lucky that it goes slow.

The last big stage of his recovery takes up his whole body. Just like when he was turned into a puppet, but now it's vice versa. From puppet to Addison.

He glitches out. It's painful. REALLY painful. It gets him all at once. He can feel his code being rearranged, just like it had been in the past...

In short, a lot less pleasant than in the early stages.

Does reformed spamton ever dance? I belive you've said that he didn't while being the gremlin spamton-

So does reform ever re-learn it? Maybe with the help of the crew or Tenna?

Whatever his benefactor did to him, it took away the things he used to be able to do best before he was turned. So his excessive glitching as a puppet stopped him from trying altogether. Mostly out of fear that something wrong could happen. It was also very painful and made him lose balance every time, so what was the point, y'know?

When he's reformed it takes him a while to get back to it. His fear of being interrupted by his glitching is still pretty much present, even if it happens way less.

But I'd assume, maybe the crew get into a dance/music-oriented shenanigan, and Tenna gets overexcited and invites him (or moreso pulls him) to the dancefloor. And after a bit of trying to pull away, he sees the pure joy on Tenna's face. How happy he is to be there with him. Whether he knows how to dance or not, he can tell Tenna doesn't care.

So, he tries. Slowly at first. A few, easy steps he remembers. Then, when no glitching happens, he tries more. Some harder steps he used to know best. And little by little, he starts feeling joy himself when he realizes that he can do it again.

One of the few things that brought him genuine happiness and freedom in the past... It's still there. He can do it again. And not be pestered by [REDACTED] ever again.

Trying to figure out how I wanna draw my little Deltarune guyyyyy. Also figured out a name! Him's now named Scherryl (pronounced like "cherry-l")!
