So much reading in the last few days! Yay!
Brooklyn- Colm Tóibín (252)
Michelle Obama: A Life- Peter Slevin (364)
Of Mice and Men- John Steinbeck (121)
To the Is-land- Janet Frame (191)
The Story of My Tits- Jennifer Hayden (353/2=177)
Northanger Abbey- Jane Austen (297)
Really enjoyed it! Probably my favourite Austen after P&P (which, because I’m a giant cliche, is my all-time favourite book). It’s also on the syllabus for the English paper I’m doing next year, so I feel all smug about getting ahead.
The Princess Bride- William Goldman (329)
A genuine TREASURE. My first five star on Goodreads in what feels like forever. I’d seen the movie a couple of years ago, but wasn’t really in the right state of mind for it (I think it was the middle of the night and I fell asleep) but I gave it another shot last week on Netflix and !!!!!! No wonder everyone loves it so much. So I fell in love with the film instantly, and therefore thought I should read the book, which was also wonderful! I will be rereading/watching this for many years to come. If you want to take away one recommendation from what I read this month, let this be it!
Are You There God? It’s Me, Margaret- Judy Blume (152)
Hahaha okay so I’d never read any Judy Blume and knew it was a pre-teen classic and I feel like I don’t read enough *fun* books anymore… It’s exactly as I expected and I enjoyed it immensely. :)
