Hey! I love what I've seen of your Scholomance RPG so far. Your table of mals looks so thorough. May I be added to the list of play testers please? When are you planning to make it available?

Hi! Thanks for the message! I always get excited when someone is into that project! The Scholomance RPG is currently going through some major mechanical edits because the rules were really cumbersome to slog through, and it was WAY too hard to start out. My poor freshman character has died three times now, and while that is close to the book's stated meat-grinder death toll, it does not make for a very fun game. I'm experimenting with a couple different adjustments to help players at least make it through their first few assignments, which is where you really gain advantages for the dice pool rolls.

I am hoping it will be ready for other eyes sometime this summer, and when it is, I will definitely add you to the list!!

hi I'm literally happy stimming over the fact that you're making a Scholomance RPG...I know nothing about TTRPGs (have tried and failed to play D&D multiple times) but if you want a complete noob (to gaming, I love the Scholomance series) to playtest your game, or if you want to yap about the books with someone, I am here!

That is so awesome!! I am still picking away at the final draft of this thing. Doing it in Google Sheets is a formatting nightmare, but I think it'll be the easiest for players to use. Flipping back and forth through the giant "book" I had first was pretty awful during play, so the restructure is a MUST!

Right now I'm kind of stuck on how much worldbuilding info to include in the thing. I have some people who have never read the Scholomance but are interested in trying the game based on vibes and mechanics alone. And on the one hand, I know they won't be most of the audience, so I probably shouldn't worry about that. But on the other hand, I know I'm pretty obsessive about detail in this series, and most other people probably won't just know/remember a lot of the things I do when I'm playing, and I don't want people to have to stop to look a lot of things up separately. I'm considering linking to a handful of wiki pages that have relevant info, or else doing a background sheet with some summary worldbuilding stuff.

Haha I don't know. I bounce back and forth between insanely excited about this project and "omg what am I even doing" pretty regularly! This will be done at some point though, and I'll definitely add you to my list for playtesters!!
