my math class had the weirdest conversations like . . .
at one point, we were talking about parabalos, and suddenly my teacher referenced this show and we asked what it was and she said “white lines, but don’t watch it. you’re too young. there’s a lot of r-rated stuff” and the class knew what she was on about but my friend beside me said “oH you mean like violent?” and his friend behind him called out “blood! and gore!”. my teacher deadpanned and said, “yeah sure”
NEXT we started talking about MONEY HEIST and i literally smiled because i’m watching that and it’s my favourite and turns out most people in my class watch it, too. my teacher was like “a lot of people say i need to watch it. is it very r-rated? i heard it breaks one of the commandments” and my crush called out “oh, yeah, yeah. you shall not steal” and we all burst out laughing. we talked about the show for a bit and my teacher said “what is with the spanish and their violent tv shows”
last last thing we started talking about the word “fine” for some reason. my teacher said “if someone says they’re fine, they’re not fine and they’re just lying” and my friend beside me said “oh, but what if it’s a good fine” and my teacher said “what’s a good fine?” and he responded with an “that’s fine” and my teacher said “oh, sure, a good fine is a high-pitched fine”
she then wrote on the board “this is what fine means, according to my teacher back when i was in high school—” she wrote:
F — ‘ed up
I — Insecure
N — Neurotic
E — Emotional
my friend behind me said, “i’m trying to think of a good fine”
another person said “how do you say the first word?”
and then my crush had the audacity to say “hey, what about the fine where you find someone attractive and say “oh, she’s fine” and my teacher laughed and said “is that what you say? i thought it would be hot. like, david beckham is hot.” and my friend behind me said “no, we say she’s fine but i guess it’s a guy thing” and i almost lost it. like, i swear. this class.
i just had to get this out so i don’t ever forget this memory.
