Caterlink to serve up school meals to Isle of Anglesey
Caterlink, the school education catering specialist, has been awarded a significant contract to cater across the Isle of Anglesey.
The five year agreement with Isle of Anglesey County Council will see Caterlink deliver a selection of locally sourced ingredients and seasonal, freshly prepared hot and cold meals to pupils and staff for the Island’s 48 primary schools, five secondary schools and one special school from 1 September 2013.
The competitive tendering process saw an evaluation panel of senior councillors, head teachers and pupil representatives attend a special food tasting event, where a unanimous decision was made to award the contract to Caterlink.

Anglesey Director of Lifelong Learning, Dr Gwynne Jones, said, “Throughout the tendering process Caterlink clearly demonstrated their ability to deliver even further improvements in this important service, offering healthy and nutritious meals, more local procurement, better flexibility and choice, strong operational standards and financial stability - all aimed at increasing benefits for Anglesey school children.”
Caterlink will be providing a selection of hot and cold dishes with mains including turkey and leek short crust pastry pie with sweetcorn and peas and desserts such as fruit jelly with fruit chunks and pear crumble with custard.
