thanks horikoshi and studio bones for granting us short (and stocky) king spinner. you guys did not stand on business when you said spinner was ONLY 1 INCH SHORTER THAN DABI. it’s the 5’11 vs 6’0 meme all over again. ANYWAYS spinner looks funnier when he’s a stout fella. (yes this is a lowk spindabi fueled yap)

i saw these cute ass screencap edits of spinner by @brookerthespinnerfan (hope you don’t mind the mention..) and before i knew it i was compelled to make a sci-fi spinnerakidabi AU in which they’re all aliens and quite honestly they just pillage planets.. these are loose low quality sketches and definitely subject to change. the last doodle is by @vilevalentino bc i was too scared to try drawing shigaraki… i haven’t drawn him in MONTHS… ANYWAY. BEHOLD MY INFO-DUMPING BELOW THE CUT.
SPINNER
he’s a dragon.. if dragons looked like aliens. an outcast because he’s both short and stout compared to many of his race, they live on a habitable rock too small to be called a planet.
on top of his build, he’s got both defective wings and flame ducts — what resulted was an all around stronger physique and unusual physical prowess given much less reliance on his wings than others AND his home planet having more gravity.
their muscles behave weirdly, they don’t deteriorate when left unstimulated, but spinner can’t gain muscle until those muscles truly strain — given his planet’s conditions, it’s hard to find those or even things physically stronger than him.
he’s learned to play dirty against those who have the high-ground. his weapon is quite literally a HUGE LASER GUN, his fists and/or some daggers.
DABI
a pyro-vulcan (that’s what i’m naming their race but he’s just a fire guy) entirely flame based. oxygen is mandatory.
genetics made his flame output much too strong for his body to handle; in short bursts he can use his flames, but long, drawn out encounters waste his flames and harm him. he has flames for hair and his body but those are not optional features — oddly enough, he doesn’t burn to the touch, he’s only unusually warm.
all vulcans reach the end of their life solely because their body has used up all of its combustible energy — for dabi and his unusually hot flames, his death will come MUCH sooner.
his flames are his weapon, and at their highest can deadassuinely cause a supernova — the downside is that he dies along with. and his allies die. and a whole solar system dies.
he (physically) can workout, but too much strain will make his body combust unnecessarily, he prefers not to waste any more of his short life — so he does the bare minimum (twink by choice).
SHIGARAKI
a moth-like alien, born with an uncontrollable urge to destroy. it started with small things: taking apart gadgets, tearing clothes and furniture, but as his people lost patience for his behavior, he tried to repress it.
the thing is about repression is that it makes urges stronger, and with his alien race, strong emotions can manifest abilities, but cases planet-wide are rare.
with his heavily repressed urge to destroy unleashed, he manifested decay. his hands are his weapons, whenever he hones his skills in decay, his body gets stronger to accommodate, but there’s a cap.
now shigadabi’s just like a moth to a flame in this AU haaa haaa….
more of my alien AU but i strip them naked and give a brief overview of their species
the blocked out parts is how their species reproduce. spoiler alert pyrovulcans don’t engage in coitus they just slap their flames together and a baby is “forged” like a weapon. it’s not THAT simple a process but that’s the tl;dr. pharmos dragons are seahorses except the men have the eggs and the women have the semen and carry the baby — and lepirs just do what chickens and roosters do.
if i were clinically insane i’d have dabi literally plotting spinner’s murder on the same day spinner’s devising a plan to finally confess his feelings for dabi because dabi can’t stand this pining and his own irrational feelings, and the only way he’d find peace again is if the source of his weird behavior and unbearable yearning lately was cut off (killed) — so when dabi shows up to spinner’s room w/ a knife (or some other weapon… burning just isn’t romantic enough), spinner’s leaving his own room w/ a bouquet and a love letter. they meet each other on the hall… and spinner confesses his feelings nervously, all the while dabi’s got a blade behind his back like, “WOOOOW… REALLY?? YOU? LIKE ME??? AHAHAH….?”
i AM clinically insane someone stop me someone hold me back i’m in love with the idea of dabi not knowing how to deal w/ these romantic feelings especially w/ his whole i-plan-to-kill-myself thing, along w/ spinner practically EDGING him romantically, like c’mon!! he either gets the babe or no one does, and he “purges” his feelings for spinner. OBVIOUSLY it ain’t gonna end that way, feelings like that don’t go away easily, spinner’s gonna forever be the one that got away, except got away in this case means he literally just killed him. or like.. scared him away if not the former.
in which spinner gets squished by squishy dabi and shigaraki makes a guest appearance.. plus dabi wip i’ll never finish… it’s yandere au schtick
proportioning on the second doodle is off and it makes me angry….
apologies for posting literal barebones sketches btw, i was copium doodling and didn’t feel like prettying anything up…
also on another note, what if i gave post final war touya some pudge….. i want him to be happy, cute and squishy. truthfully i’m gonna mess around w/ lots of different designs but i can’t be alone in thinking he’d be softer in the aftermath when the worst of it’s behind him…
