Schrodinger’s Scientist
Gaster didn’t get much company in the Void -- that is to say, he got absolutely no company at all. For what felt like years turned to decades, decades to centuries, he knew he couldn’t live that long but by now it had begun to feel like eons had passed. The world moved on without him. He was sure everyone had forgotten about him. In spite of all of his achievements and contributions to the world of science, it was as if he’d been erased from everyone’s memories: Schrodinger’s Scientist, if you will.
His skin burned, flesh dripping from his chin and the tips of his fingers, leaving behind little pure white pools on the muted grey floor. Outside, the sounds of Waterfall came to fall and die on his nonexistent ears. In spite of a door to his domain, he was sure no one would come through. How long had he been here? Hours? Days? It didn’t matter.
------------ He had all of the time in the world.
