Brian has been a runner all his life and became an educator to influence the lives of children. He has run ten marathons, two ultra marathons, ran from MI to FL in 2002 to raise funds for a private school for children with Cerebral Palsy and autism, and has run the Keys100 with Brandon Mercado and Ramiro Melendez in 2009 and 2011. He was asked to mentor and train these two young men. He committed himself to that task for more than four years, upon their year long requests, training them to run across the country. Brian has been a teacher for the last ten years. The last six have been at Okeeheelee Middle School. He is one of the founders of a boys mentoring program, The Bridge. He has also been the boys track and field coach.
