Back to Reality
This week it was back to reality for me after having a week and a half off for my trip out West. From the minute I walked into the showroom on Monday morning to when I locked the doors at 4pm I was busy doing something.
The final orders for Bionic's Fall 2011 line had been put through and so we had to now calculate how many of each design had to be produced, as well as how many different colours of each. Although this wasn't a difficult task it was very time consuming as myself and the other intern, Sabrina, had to go through about 100 orders to get a final count.
Once that was finished we had to go back to the project we had completed the week before I went to Alberta, which was creating post cards for the two shows we have coming up, The Profile Show, and the CGTA Show, both held at the Congress Center in Toronto. We added a few final touches to the post cards, and then went to calling all of the stores on our contact list that have sold Schwiing, as that is the line we will be focusing on for our first show, the CGTA show. We were calling to remind them of the CGTA Show and to see if they wanted to book an appointment to come and see the booth. Several store owners were interested, but many were very busy that day and so we decided it would be better to send out e-mails, which the owners and buyers could read and reply to at their own convenience. Unfortunately, once we made the decision to do this, something went wrong with our Internet, and it wouldn't let us connect. This is why we ended up leaving the showroom an hour early. I made the commute home and sent the e-mails from there instead.
Tuesday was a bit more of a laid back day at the showroom. Our 12 o'clock appointment never ended up showing up unfortunately, but hopefully they will reschedule for a later date. Glancing around the showroom I noticed it wasn't the tidiest and so myself and the other intern that was on, Adrianna, went to work sweeping and dusting. After that was finished we decided to change the twelve mannequins in there, giving the showroom a face lift.
Once that was finished we had to go through a 59 page list of who had attended the Profile Show in the past, and who was planning on attending it this year. This resulted in many e-mails having to be sent out and a lot of phone calls to be made. Let's just say, I'm beginning to realize how much work goes into trade shows. Although both days were fairly busy, it was still a good start to the week, and it made time fly by. I'm getting excited for the upcoming trade shows!
