Last Line Tag
I was tagged by the wonderful @simonxriley thank you so much dude! I took a break from tumblr and writing but I do have some material that I'm cool with sharing. This is from the second chapter of my sci-f-/horror fic "The Lost One".
Pain blossoms from the back of Theo’s skull each time he tries to pull something forward. He can feels his thoughts reaching out, so close to who he is and yet the memories fall through his fingertips like sand. “I…” Pressing his knuckles against his temples his growls, yelling once. “I don’t…” He wipes tears from his eyes with a frustrated groan. “Can we stop?” He asks, wrapping his arms close to himself. The doctor purses her lips, tapping her pen against the clipboard. “I need to evaluate you Theo, whether you remember or not, this is important.” Her flat tone grates against his ears. Melanie offers a sympathetic smile, clearly fighting the urge to sit beside him. Doctor Arka sighs, setting her clipboard on the small stand beside her. Crossing her arms she fixes Theo with a firm gaze. “You seem pretty blank compared to most. Memory loss is not uncommon, but most know their names when they wake up. They can recite their birthday, full legal name, at least one nickname, and a few have even explained their best and worst childhood memories.” She cocks her head to the side, a wicked gleam in her eyes. “You however, seem like a blank slate, hm?” She grins like a shark. “Fascinating.”
