YO HAS ANYONE GOT GIFS OF THAT SCENE WHERE ALICE WALKS IN AND IS LIKE 'white sage - to banish the evil spirits' I NEED IT FOR SCIENCE
The basics of Science Tea, as served by the Ampersand Hotel in London. They are just down the road from the Natural History Museum, which is what inspired this assembly of edibles.
I ate everything you see here, plus two pots of tea. They had a gluten-free version of the macaron, which didn’t contain anything I am allergic to, so I even got to eat the macaron.
I think the fact that yesterday’s walking stats included 43 floors helped make that possible. Well, that and my getting a larger-size binder for improved comfort in heat with activity.
This is this young lady’s first tea, and it’s a Science Tea.
Join us on a journey of discovery, where physics, chemistry and gastronomy meet in a curious alchemy to create an out-of-this-world dining experience.
Our inspiration came from our South Kensington neighbour, the Science Museum. Here, they experiment with sounds and visuals, making each experience interactive. We wanted to do the same with our food. Expect a mix of exciting and curious dishes, from jams served in petri dishes, to chocolate spacemen and dinosaur biscuits.
This one-of-a-kind experience, unique to The Ampersand, won Best Themed Afternoon Tea at the Afternoon Tea Awards 2018. Each treat is expertly prepared by our chefs in unique and unusual ways. Your food is served with tea, coffee and — if you like — Champagne.
I committed, and booked an afternoon Science Tea for June 5th. Here’s the menu they have posted online. As near as I can tell, I just have to skip the macaroon. Get the entire inside scoop on this experience (and more) by donating to my travel crowdfund!
