I should be working, but am on tumblr instead. The amount of snow you're posting about terrifies me because that shit does not happen in Seattle. Anything more than a light dusting shuts down the city. There will be a day in which climate change will have progressed far enough that a 'mild' winter will no longer exist and I am reasonably sure that I will perish under mounds of snow when it comes. Do you follow marvel? Can I request an mcu Steve Rogers character study re: adjustment issues?
Hi. I have seen the movies. I know people in the fandom and people who read the comics and if I get anything horribly wrong they’ll let me know. I’ll give it a shot.

It wasn’t the speed at which things moved that dug down into a soft, raw place in his gut and rooted there: a constant, unpleasant tug, like a sharp pebble in your boot. It was the noise. Steve had grown up in Brooklyn, which is a place not known for its peace and quiet. Everything was louder and the sounds were clearer and more realistic. Sometimes unrealistically more than real. He mentioned it to Natasha once. She said, “Well, that sucks.” Shrugged. Said she had to go and he didn’t ask if it she was going to a movie or South America or Asia. He didn’t ask how long she’d be gone.
Weeks later he found a pair of noise-cancelling headphones plugged into the stereo in his living room. No note. No box, but they were brand new. They were snug over his ears, but not bad.
At first the cocoon of hiss and pop, Glen Miller slightly scratchy, but warm and familiar—was a balm. Except the more he closed himself off the worse the transition back to the screech of the present grew.
He zipped them back into their case and put them in a drawer. Truths must be faced even if they are unlikable.
No matter the weather the first thing he did in the morning was open his windows wide and listen. Because those sounds were made by people. The screeching traffic and pounding construction were sounds of life. Those lives were the reason he was here and you could never have enough reminders of that.
Disclaimer: I am not psychic. The things that happen in this reading may be true, may not. A big part of doing tarot is knowing a person, or at least being able to know a few things about the person. You're not sitting in front of me, so it's a bit tough. And remember: tarot doesn't dictate the future. It points out things that you may want to look out for. You can always change your destiny.
Tagging: I will be tagging these posts as Tarot Wednesday, if you don't want to see them on your dash!
1. The Question. The interpretation of this card will help define the question.
Knight of Swords (reversed): (Before I start, I'm doing this reading under the assumption that you don't have a significant other. If you do, then lemme do this over for you, because the answers will be different!!) Up to this point, you've been a bit unlucky in love. Your rashness and eagerness to be loved has lead to some rookie mistakes, which have kept would-be lovers away. (It's okay friend, so have I.)
2. This card describes the events and the general situation that lead up to the question.
Strength: You have been a pillar for the people around you. When people need advice on love? They go to you. You actively root for your friends and even when things haven't worked out for yourself, you still believe that you'll find someone some day. But as you keep getting shot down, you may be losing some of that hopefulness.
3. This card shows how the seeker has tried to answer the question, or it may indicate the character strength or flaw that has the most bearing on the solution.
Nine of Wands (reversed): This one is really clear-cut: you're just having troubles. Because of the placement of the card, this probably means inexperience in love, whether that be emotionally or physically. There are probably obstacles in your own mind, whether conscious or not. Maybe it's that you aren't sure that you deserve love, or you're afraid of commitment. Given your first card, I'd guess it's the latter, and that's come out in erratic behavior, where your would-be partners aren't entirely sure where you're coming from all the time.
4. Specifically this card may represent the influence of co-workers, friends, or family.
The Hanged Man: Someone is coming who is going to change everything. He/she is new, a little out there. They're going to be introspective and they're going to make you think in new ways about the world, and maybe about yourself.
5. This card represents the answer to the problem. The appropriate action to take is inherent in the interpretation of this card.
Justice (reversed): Whoever it was that came into your life is not going to have a positive effect. My guess is that you're going to fall for this person, and they're going to end up making you believe that maybe you're not destined to be in love. THIS IS NOT TRUE. This tarot reading is a warning. Remind yourself of the strength that you have, how you feel about love. The immediate future may not bring someone great into your life, but if you do end up getting into a relationship with this not-so-positive person, use the situation as a learning experience.
