Did it suddenly get warm up in here?
Sen Çal Kapımı - Serkan & Eda in episode 22
The cast of Sen Çal Kapımı celebrating the birth of Sarp’s (Erdem) son while on set shooting episode 22
Eda and Serkan, always side by side...
Did you see the fragman and episode summary, I’m so disappointed in this storyline. They didn’t even let Eda and Serkan be happy before introducing a new love interest.
Yes, I did see both fragmans and read the description... did you!?!? Did you miss the part where Serkan and Eda look to be having a romantic meal (presumably the Chef Alexander one from the last episode) alone together? Or the part where they're teasing each other about punishments and wishes? Or the part where Serkan and Eda are dancing at the party? Or the part where Serkan and Eda fuse themselves together in a sensual mass of limbs and recreate the scene from Ghost!?!?!?!?!?
Honey, you need to get some perspective. Because that's like an entire season's worth of shippy moments on other shows.
That new character Balka is NOT a third party love interest. For her to be a third party love interest, Serkan would have to be able to show romantic interest in a woman other than Eda. If you're watching the same show I am, you know that's not possible. Serkan loves Eda more than anything or anyone. He's so far gone over her, I don't think he even notices other women. He certainly didn't notice Selin was after him. Serkan knows what he wants, and that's not changing because some new lady is working in the office.
Now is this woman going to cause trouble? Yes. Is she going to be annoying? Clearly. Is she going to be pushy and invasive? Her uninvited appearance at Serkan's door seems to indicate a hard yes to that. Am I planning to dislike her? Yes, yes I am. But I'm going to guess here and now, she's going to push Eda in ways that will ultimately be a good thing both for Eda's personal growth and her relationship with Serkan.
I have a feeling that Eda's going to be a little intimidated by her, which is not something that we've seen too much of before. Eda is uber confident, it's the thing that allowed her to confront Serkan Bolat while he was on stage addressing graduates and to dress him down in front of his entire company on the day they met! She pretty much goes toe to toe with everyone she meets, and I think she will here too, but it might take her a minute to get her bearings. Perhaps this woman's aggressive nature and the way she zeros in on Serkan, will push Eda in some interesting ways.
It seems like her words are going to have Eda questioning the whole "change" thing with Serkan. Eda doing some soul searching there and deciding what she really needs from Serkan (knowing he's not going to hide things or break up with her vs other more superficial things that they may spiral into focusing on) is probably going to be a very good thing. I wouldn't be surprised if that doesn't push them into a swoony scene in the next few eps where Eda tells him she loves him just the way he is. (prayer circle)
My advice is to step back, stop reading all the negativity from the tantruming teens on twitter, and watch this storyline before you judge it. These fragmans and descriptions are designed specifically to be evocative. It's counterproductive to judge a full story from that or to borrow trouble by being upset before you see any of it.
As for the show, the truth is they've got to fill 2 hours every week, and for the series to keep going, there must be obstacles, there must be drama, something has to happen every episode. That's just the way it is, but also always remember that this entire show is built around the love story of Serkan and Eda. Every character that appears and every single thing that happens is around telling that story. They aren't going to sabotage it, and anything that happens will ultimately make them stronger.
