I remember when I was at the end of high school there was a time when I got to briefly share at a youth night. I remember stating about my desire to do overseas missions work once I had finished uni. Early in the next year I had just started my paramedic studies when the youth pastor was praying for me one night. I remember him saying that he understood that I thought that I had a heart for overseas work, but God has plans for me in Australia. I thought "well that's lame, I wanna make a change overseas."
I thought nothing of it until right now really, having subsequently dropped out of uni and feeling a little bit lost and apprehensive about my new uni course applications. But it's almost 3 years later and I realised I have volunteered at 6 Southern Cross Kids Camps and have absolutely loved it. I now have such a heart and passion for this organisation which aims to provide kids from abuse and neglected background with a really fun and awesome week. We get to basically live as "Jesus with skin on" and show them God's love. So many good testimonies have come out of these camps and I am so so so glad that I have been and continue to be a part of this organisation.
Just thought that if anyone needs some encouragement about words said over them, God always has your back. Every single time.
