I’m ready for scorched. I’m so ready. It’s the weekend before colossal, but I am so prepared. I need to get away and spend my time outside and away from my reality. I was at the river for four and a half hours this morning. Soon enough I’ll be in the middle of nowhere without cell service, even if I wanted it. I’ll be surrounded by friends and strangers, all of whom are there to protect me from bullshit. I’m excited to be done with thinking.
I cannot believe I have not ranted about it yet. It was all my friends in a field. I go to see my Mama & Papa Boop. My birthday was amazing I gave a out birthday cake (vodka) to everyone walking by and just Eeee. It was rad how many new people attended! Every year Scorched Nuts gets a little bigger and over the past 3 years the community has just exploded. No burn is ever the same I suppose but I'm just so stoked that my first regional thrown by all my KOI Pound family is getting so much attention. Paul and I have also decided we are going to try to go to Burning Man next year. It means we won't be able to travel to many other things summer 2014 but we are committed to going home to the Playa.
Punk Festival at the end of this month in Chattanooga with Paul & Jon Douds who will be coming in from New York to ride with us and MAYBE Sarah Burns? I literally have zero details on this festival other than the line-up so we shall see.
I have a lot of things to write and express, so feel free to enjoy a story, or continue scrolling. Last weekend I went to my very first burn, Scorched Nuts in Ohio. It was absolutely amazing.
The best part was how smoothly everything went. The stumble in the road was when I misplaced the car keys and had to look for them for about 2 hours.
I got to express myself to my full extent, and I met so many amazing people and shared so many amazing moments with people I already knew. Roman claimed that I was the Queen of the Burn because of my balls to stay completely naked as long as I did in the cold.
While tripping, which was the longest trip of my life, lasting over 24 hours, leaving me to witness the Effigy and Temple burn all in one trip, I connected with this interesting soul named Draco, he gifted me a necklace, and shared some absolutely amazing stories. It was a special moment and I believe we will run back into each other one day in the future.
My friend Ember changed her life with her first trip and shared secrets and emotions with me and I did the same back. Our bond grew immensely while we were there, and she shared with me many beautiful places that she found.
I danced, and I cried, and I laughed, and I brought out my sillyness. I don't think there was a bad moment during those 4 days at all.
I got to hoop with my lovely future hoop, and leveled up a bit with it.
Unfortunately on the way home my hoop go places on some oil, and now the tubing is stained in spots with oil and it wont come out. :( I'm really upset about this, but at least it doesn't effect the colors.
I am so stressed out oh god. I have zero supplies and wont be able to buy any until the day OF the burn. I know in my heart it'll be fine but my over planning over packing butt is still nervous. I just need to GET THERE already. On a positive note Paul is coming and I am so so so excited we made it work. How could I possibly enjoy my birthday without my favorite person there? HELLO festival season! You have (almost) officially started for this burner girl.
