Mission: Eliminate Tony Stark
Mission Report: Undetermined
There wasn't much he knew on his given target. Just a short dossier he'd received from his briefing. Name, location, strengths and weaknesses--that's all he needed to know, after all. It was his job to measure those strengths and weaknesses in order to complete his mission by taking out Tony Stark.
"Anthony Stark is a threat to this country and this world. As a defender of the people, you must take it into your own hands to eliminate that threat."
HYDRA spoonfed lies such as these to Dean Winchester daily. But was he supposed to know any differently. HYDRA agents were the only people he'd ever had any real contact with, besides his targets, all of which were quickly killed after his first meeting wtih them. Why should he question HYDRA's authority in the world? They were the only people he knew--at least, that's what he'd been told.
Every day, he was reminded he didn't have a friend in the world. Not a real friend, at least. He had authority figures and commanding officers and scientists surrounding him. Sometimes, he couldn't even remember the previous day or waht had happened. They did something to him. If only he knew what.
He knew one thing at the current moment--
"What is your mission?"
"Eliminate Tony Stark."
Everything else was useless to him. He had one job and one job only. He planned to fulfill it. Dean knew what happened when he let down those who had power over him. Bad things happened. If they forced him to remember, he had nightmares of it. If he was so lucky as to have them remove memories such as those, he became what they'd created him to be once more.
A blunt little instrument for them to use and throw away.
"Complete the mission," he would tell himself. "Kill Tony Stark." Even though he had been told he was powerful and capable of completing such a feat, he knew it would be a challenge. As they'd told him, Tony Stark was no ordinary man. Not only did he create weapons to kill innocent souls, he created a weapon that was quite literally himself. Dean didn't know what it was called, only that it was a powerful weapon that he would have to avoid.
Avoid or terminate it, at least.
If he'd been told the truth, Tony Stark was a bad man. A bad man who deserved death as much as Satan himself.
And he knew exactly where the billionaire would be.
