Nailed it!!! I’m so stoked. I hit all the lines and didn’t hold anything back. No regret; that’s all I had! I’m really happy with how my riding progressed this weekend. And to lay it all down on race day feels really amazing 😇

It was really nice! And hugely expensive, for me, even at the closeout price. I haven't liked the ride quality and handling of many of the carbon gravel bikes I've tried, but this one seemed to have a good combination of lightness, stiffness and compliance over bumps. It has SRAM Force, and is the first bike I've tried with that--I haven't liked the way Rival shifts and thought based on my experience with that that I didn't like SRAM double-tap. But Force pretty much changed my mind about that. And, the 1x with 44t up front and 10-42 in the back gives a bigger range in both high and low than my Ultegra triple on my current road bike. Hmmm.

A few weeks ago CyclingTips gave us an open brief to put together a roadtripping feature for them. With the help from Holden Australia (x2 support cars) and Scott (x4 Scott Foils & 3 Scott Addict Discs) we hit the roads around Canberra for a hard but very fun couple of days, coming back to Melbourne severely deprived of sleep and surprisingly enough, sporting sun tans.
Head to #roadtrippingcanberra on Instagram for more photos. Here at Soup Boys HQ we’re sorting through a thousand photos and a few thousands words with a full story up on our .cc and on CyclingTips some time next week.
