Got my Scott C. Psychonauts 2 print in the mail today!
Night Time
As you mind your business in your own base or room, the same channel you sit on turns to static before a familiar voice is heard. You realize it’s a bit past 9:30 P.M. and that means it is time for Scott’s talk.
“Happy night survivors! It’s your ol’ radio host, Scott C., here and here is the news for tonight.”
“The skies do seem quite clear for now, but I spotted some darker clouds forming in the horizon a bit ago, and we know how storms are- so be sure to be ready for that! I hope my area doesn’t collapse...”
His tone came back from the down drop, “Not much activity in the plains! I saw a certain chicken today though so I nearly had my heart scatter to my feet! Ho! I was lucky honestly.” Scott smiled behind that mic, as per usual. Though your calmness was filled by a liquid-gross sounding cough. It was muffled but you can almost smell the blood as he coughed. His throat cleared once it was done.
“So let’s talk for a bit: Beds. They are probably one of the hardest things to get since the apocalypse! I was lucky to get a mattress from a dump yard and was able to clean it! My pillow was made by clothes, and even my blanket is sheets combined- it’s comfy though! I personally love it, it keeps me cool on the hot days and warm on the cool days. My piece of advice: Sheets are the best thing to do. Even very thin shirts can work to make a wonderful comforting blanket!”
A soft but soothing laugh came through, “Also had a caller today..one I never spoke to before! No threats of death either! I’m so happy there is friendlies out there! I hope there is more!” He sighed happily, “Now for a few serious words.”
“Make sure to drink enough water, have shelter, some food, and all of your loved ones close. The times are here and people..we have to fight for what we can. If we don’t then what’s the point? I am always here to support you! Even if you can’t talk to me and you’re alone, just know I am your friend! You guys are my only friends..without this, I probably would’ve lost my mind so..thank you all.”
The same sad and sickening cough was muffled again.
“I’m on a twenty-four hour streak again so I’ll still take calls! Tonight’s playlist though is a nice variety! It will have:”
Easy Living by Billie Holiday
Dark as a Dungeon by Merle Travis
Put Your Head On My Shoulder by Paul Anka
Can’t Help Falling in Love by Elvis Presley
Blue Moon by Frank Sinatra
“Many other hits to come your way! A personal favorite song of mine is..quite saddening but it was a catch in my younger years! It’s called “I Don’t Want to Set the World on Fire” by The Ink Spots. It..always reminds me of the easier days. My daughter would love to dance to this song. She would always stand on my feet and make fun of my big hands but she was cute, and..I miss her. She’s still on the lose. If anyone finds a 10 year old girl named Amanda with dark brown hair and auburn eyes, keep her safe..okay? Amanda if you’re listening..I love you, sweetie. Your Pops misses you.” A moment of silence and you could hear the soft sigh of the man. It wasn’t long before a tired happy tone came. “I’ll see everyone in the morning..” It wasn’t long before the playlist listed begun to play.
Have a wonderful night.
GREAT SHOWDOWNS by scott c.
I'm completely with Claire when she was throwing a tantrum because Allison won't tell her the Eiffel Tower story. I mean, come on, at least give me the bedtime story version with those adorable Scott C. illustrations!!!
