Dust plume off the Sahara desert captured by NOAA is able to suppress hurricanes. Many hurricanes start as storms across the Sahara and can pickup to Category 2 hurricanes as they move west off the coast. These are interesting to watch because these systems often fade out over the Atlantic deep waters and strengthen early on as they near the Caribbean thus able to produce very strong hurricanes. #scott_fierro https://www.instagram.com/p/CBQ0LbeJmt9/?igshid=hadwa68mvrdy
