Downtown Miami sits along the Miami river and is a bustling area with a cultural and financial district. If you’ve ever walked the streets of NYC, you understand how hard it is to believe what it once looked like. According to Henry Hudson in the early 1600’s it was a land of stream, sandy beaches and forests full of hickory, chestnut and oak trees. This is Terminal 1 of the Paris International Airport. Terminals are islands that connect via underground tunnels to the main hub. As I learned the airport is massive with other terminals and getting from one flight to another require busses, tunnels, a ton of running and still not make your flight. Mount Rainier is an active volcano that I’ve been up to the 5,000 ft observation center of. The surrounding nature of the park at the base are extremely tranquil and picturesque. You’d never think you are at one of the most dangerous volcanos in the world and it threatens hundreds of thousands of lives. It’s incredible topographic diversity is captured well@in this Maxar image. Target practice in Nye county, NV? You aren’t seeing a target marker from a lens. This massive target is carved into the ground. It’s believed that the military and NASA used this as a control point to verify the accuracy of imagery in the 1950s & 1960s.
