My amateur 3D modelling skills are put to good use to make stupid lil accessories for my silly little creatures so I can turn them into the silly robots from that game series I love... ehehe...
Working on things is hard. I'm in a bit of a slump and just trying to do some work on basics and such to get back into a groove. Have this lil man in his pajamas in the meantime.
More random robot thoughts while I'm sleepy and trying to get back to bed.... Also I'm using the "proper names" I gave for the robots if anyone's confused. First time I use them, I'll make it clear who I'm talking about in parentheses.
Due to how I feel robot masters end up developing their personalities (their AI), I like to imagine they have super strong bonds with certain people/robots. However, this can be a double edged sword for them, as that immense trust and care can quickly turn into immense hurt or betrayal.
It's not uncommon to find a newly booted robot, who by default is a bit more childlike and curious in nature, following an older robot (or in some cases, a human) around like a little duckling. They're likely looking for some guidance, and it's clear that this older robot has things more figured out (especially since their AI training really is mostly just to ensure how they interact with others is, at baseline, acceptable and safe). This leads to some robots seeming "similar" in personality, but they are all unique.
As an example of this, due to me also going by "serial number dictates when they were made": A good amount of the first generation of Light bots ended up learning from and mimicking Rock as their AI developed. Though the one who did the most of that and is most close with Rock due to it is Breve (Cutman). Dr. Light was hard pressed to find Rock without him tagging along for a long while, but he found it sweet in a way.
As for betrayal, and a bit of showing that that strong bond goes both ways a lot of times: An opposite of this would be Kanon (Geminiman) and Capriccio's (Snakeman's) currently strained relationship. Prior to a specific incident, they used to be quite close, and Kanon would look out for his younger sibling any chance he got (when not oogling himself in the mirror that is fhshdj). However, since that incident, the two stay FAR away from each other, almost as though they were strangers. The few times they DO interact, it's not pleasant. Still in this case, personality influence is reflected. Despite it being different in how it displays with Kanon, Cap is now more self-centered and cares about his own interests before others as a result of mimicking Kanon for a bit.
Blah blah blah, random robot master thoughts, blah blah
I like to imagine most robot master's first words are "Hello, world" due to that being one of the simplest things you can learn to code. Also works as a baseline to make sure their voice modules are working properly and that their robot brains are in fact thinking.
Plus, it's just a cute thought to have. A bright-eyed, newly booted robot with 0 outside input just saying "hello world!" Because they're here, and the world is lovely...
For the exactly one (1) of you interested. I present my list of Robot Master given names and why they were chosen (aka: what I choose to call them outside of their model names):
(Also as an extra note, not everyone has a name yet. I like to choose names that are fitting in my opinion in one way or the other, so I take my time in deciding.)
Megaman 1 (and powered up):
Cutman: Breve (Not to be confused with "Breve" the note value, this is specifically from "Alla Breve" or "Cut time")
Gutsman: Forza ("Force", "Strength", or "Power". This one's quite on the nose!)
Iceman: Medley [and Hook!] (Two names? Good reason, but not for here. Medleys are compositions made from several existing pieces of music. And Hooks are short parts of music meant to grab your attention!)
Bombman: Sforzando [or "Zan" for short!] (When a note or chord is suddenly played with a strong accent. Kinda like a BOOM!)
Fireman: Calore ("Heat" or "warmth", which usually means playing a piece passionately or heartfelt. Both things I feel fit his personality.)
Elecman: Riff (Mainly thinking about his love of guitars. So, "Guitar riff".)
Timeman: Ritenuto [shortened to "Tenuto" by most] (Suddenly and briefly slowing down the tempo of music. Time slow.)
Oilman: Glissando ["Lisan" for short] (Sliding or gliding from one note to another. Like slipping on oil or a slick surface.)
Megaman 2, the second one:
Metalman: Tenor (Not as strong as the rest for reasoning, but it comes from "to hold". Tenors usually carried the main melody of the male sung parts, and he's the leader, he carries the rest)
Airman: Arioso [or "Ari" for short!] (Meaning "Airy", on the nose jsjsjs)
Bubbleman: Sonore (A sound that's deep and full. Deep, like water.)
Quickman: Presto (Literally playing "very, very fast". Fitting.)
Crashman: Piatti (Another name for crash cymbals or orchestral cymbals. Get it?)
Flashman: Fermata ("Stop", it's a symbol that when placed over a note or a rest means it's held out much longer than it's supposed to. Mostly for dramatic tension or emphasis.)
Heatman: Accesso ("Ignited" or "On fire", usually pretty intense music. Which, if you make him mad, sounds about right.)
Woodman: Conga (Mainly named after the instrument, which are typically made out of wood. Plus, the rhythms of a drum lead the rest of the music while usually being in the background. He's a support kind of guy.)
Megaman 3, why are we still here?:
Needleman: Staccato (Notes that are played sharply and detached from others. Like sticking a pin in something.)
Magnetman: Coda (Named mostly for "D.C. al coda". Start from the beginning until you see "to Coda" and then vwoop, you're at the end. Like you were magnetically dragged over there.)
Geminiman: Kanon [and Canon, his clone] (A melody that compounds over itself by being imitated by one or more voices.)
Hardman: Adagio (To play "slowly" or "at ease". Usually very leisurely or soft and gentle. He takes his time doing anything, and he's most of the Third's emotional support brother jsjsjs.)
Topman: Disco (Any time I think of this guy and his love for dancing, and his skates... I think of those 70s Roller Rinks)
Snakeman: Capriccio [or "Cap" for short, but don't call him "Chio"] ("Free", "Lively", "Impulsive", but namely coming from "Capricious". He often does what he wants when he wants, devil may care who is left off worse.)
Sparkman: Chiptune [or "Chip" for short!] (Electronic music, but mainly using sounds that sound like old video games or computers)
Shadowman: Kabuki (A specific type of music made for theater plays of the same name. Notably using shamisen, singing, and percussion.)
Megaman 11, whoah that's a big leap, what gives?!:
Blockman: Quaver (Another name for an eighth note. When played at a certain speed on drums, it sounds like using a pickaxe on stone.)
Fuseman: Electronica (Music made using electronic instruments. I don't think more has to be said.)
Blastman: Fandango (A lively Spanish dance. Though outside of musical terms can also mean "foolish act or thing", which some may think of him as due to his demeanor.)
Acidman: Trance (A genre of music known for being hypnotic. "Acid Trance" is a sub genre. Hooray silent puns!)
Tundraman: Ballet (No real reason to explain this one, most know this style of dance. Figure skating can seem like one is dancing Ballet.)
Torchman: Flamenco (A passionate dance, but the movements are deliberate. Fire is passion and he very much is very practiced and focused, especially on his martial art.)
Impactman: Mashup (A piece of music made by combining one or two other pieces of music. He's made up of three smaller robots. You get it.)
Bounceman: Anima ("With spirit", and boy does this one have a lot of spirit! Very lively fellow!)
Now onto more scattered territory, so we're not going in order jsjsjs:
Toadman: Acapella (Vocal music with no instrumental. He's tone deaf... And hard of hearing in my headcanons. But a frog will always sing regardless!)
Drillman: Tap (Tap dancing, lots of energy and lots of metal hitting the floor.... Also accidentally tapping into pipes he isn't supposed to be.)
Starman: Opera (Dramatic, epic, and very memorable. Yep, that's him.)
Centaurman: Laiko (Greek urban folk music! Fits his theme.)
Knightman: Nobile (To play in a majestic and noble manner. Dignified. Much like a knight holds themselves.)
Freezeman: Freddo ("Cold", "Emotionless". How I imagine he can be perceived, even if far from the truth.)
Junkman: Grave ("heavy" or "solemn". Playing a song extremely slow or weighted. He's basically a robot grave digger... That's pretty heavy.)
Slashman: Scatenato ["Nato" for short] ("Wild", "Unleashed". To play like you're in a frenzy. Acts like an animal for the most part, so yeah.)
Shademan: Nocturne (Music that is inspired by or evokes the feeling of the night. A vampire must have a fancy sounding name, it's just fitting.)
Turboman: Allegro ("Fast", "Brisk". Often an exciting tempo. Driving faaaast.)
Searchman: Duet (A piece performer by two performers. Two heads. You do the math /silly)
Magicman: Fantasia (usually very freeform and imaginative pieces of music. Very fantastical, much like magic.)
Splashwoman: Cantilena ("Lullaby", a vocal melody or instrumental that's very smooth and lyrical. Sirens sing, no?)
Galaxyman: Techno (Electronic Dance Music, very futuristic and alien sounding. Fits him, what more can I say?)
Nitroman: Accelerando [though he prefers "Accel"] (Gradually increasing the speed of a song. Like you're speeding up a vehicle.)
X: Rhapsody (A one-movement composition that lacks usual formal music structure, which makes it sound improvised. He can think for himself, therefore, he can improvise)
Zero: Niente ("Nothing", a dynamic that basically means to reduce sound until barely anything is heard. The opposite of Forte, or playing loudly.)
If you read all the way down here:
Number one: What's wrong with you? (Jokingly)
Number two: You get a cookie, cause holy yap Batman.
