Anywho, for Metalman/Tenor:
🪪 Personality Headcanon:
He's kept to himself a lot, mostly watching and giving direction from afar. He tends to think pragmatically, and a lot of his remarks on people and things are sharp and stinging. He's not one to mince words is all I would say. Even those close to him likely don't know a lot about his personal self.
💛 Relationship dynamic with other series-mates and siblings:
Tenor keeps people at arms length, including family. He mostly lets them hash arguments and disagreements between themselves and only inserts himself if he finds it getting too out of hand. The most involved he gets is when his authority as eldest creation is put into question.
Though, if one of them ends up in a bind, he'll offer SLIGHT help. The rest they have to figure out on their own.
🔒 A secret they keep:
He very much tries to keep his armor's flaw a secret, though amongst his siblings, this isn't much of a secret.
He also tends to often go out at night to make... Deals. No one really knows what he's doing regarding this though, he's been pretty tight lipped about it.
🫂 How do they show care for others?:
If he lets you know anything about himself or just shares in general, it's safe to say he cares a lot for you. Otherwise... Expect him to just show the bare minimum of acknowledging you're there and providing support sometimes.
⚪ Wholesome Headcanon:
While he is not a fan of dogs, he's neutral to ok with cats. Given he hangs around the alleyways for his deals, he ends up running into a lot of the local strays. To him, they're not bad company. He wouldn't admit it out loud, but he has given them mild attention from time to time.
You don’t have to, but pretty please can we hear the rant about how Zero is the best example of Wily’s terrible work ethic? I would really like to hear your take on how badly Wily fucked him up, if you’re amenable.
While I will have to omit some things due to it being like opening a can of worms in my opinion (and also all of it just being my own preferences and musings, so I doubt that would be of any interest), sure. I can at least give a short laundry list on my personal thoughts on this.
First and foremost, I honestly do feel the man rushed a lot of things when it came to building him up. His buster being a prime example. While it's able to charge shots that are powerful, apparently the old man didn't bother putting any sort of limitation or upper limit to how much this could be done. Thus, it's capable of overcharging and exploding in spectacular fashion. Very great for what's supposed to be your greatest invention.
Personality wise, the fact that you messed up so bad that you couldn't even get him to act a small amount the way you intended. He was wild because of a glitch that you somehow could not figure out, and that's pretty bad. Feels like you didn't double check your work before just booting him up, and by that point it seems like you developed so much code that finding the problem would be impossible. Though I feel like this is very much something Wily has struggled with when it comes to most of his specialized robots. They often end up unruly, dangerous, or just completely outside of what they were intended to be.
This one is very personally just me, but I do feel that some of Zero's moments of getting himself destroyed are also part of the "personality problem". I personally feel that sometimes in the heat of the moment he makes pretty... Poor decisions. He's not stupid, obviously not, but at least to me the fact that it crosses his mind that he "has to go" for something or someone's sake on more than one occasion is... Worrying to say the least, and probably symptoms of a bigger underlying issue. Noble? Yes. Probably not intended? Likely.
(Jokingly because I do know it's mainly outside factors but...) You know, with the amnesia arcs being plentiful, I don't think you made sure his memory was very secure.
Just the entire thought process of "you're the future's problem now". I feel like that's enough said about how much that man felt about fixing obvious problems.
Mainly just a lot of things that I personally feel wouldn't happen if proper time, caution, and care was taken to make him rather than running on spite to beat a rival you have in your head. Wily is not one to take time doing things and his creations suffer from it time and time again. An issue could be glaringly obvious, possibly dangerous to himself or the robot in question, or even just not beneficial in any manner and he would STILL do anything but fix it. Just a "one and done" pass and he's on to the next thing, and even his magnum opus was no exception to this.
(Also obviously folks can disagree, these are just my thoughts on the matter personally, as always.)
Me: When I think about how Robot Masters are, I just combine a lot of different animal things cause I like animals. Did you know in some ways I see them like bugs and arthropods?
Oh I have a loooot. It's a long list so just going off about then randomly would take forever, so here are some notable ones in my opinion (most of these are probably going to be relating to gender identity rather than sexuality cause there's only so many ways I can explain "this robot likes men" for this series jsjsjs):
Blues is aroace, and in terms of his aromantic nature he is loveless. In my mind he just doesn't quite feel that at all towards anyone. Care is still a thing, but he wouldn't describe it as love of any kind.
Centaur Man is transmasc, and by robot equivalents kept his body intact and didn't get it changed. To him, he has the soul and mind of a man, but he feels his body doesn't need to match it if it works fine for him how it is now.
Riding the same trans train, Jupiter is also transmasc, but considering what he's made for he likely wouldn't use that term at all. He's trans though.
Bounce Man is genderfluid and doesn't have much preferences about their pronouns. Most of her students refer to her with she/her pronouns, others refer to them with they/them, and some just stick with he/him because of their model name. They're fine with it all.
Wind Man is a trans woman and will very much make sure you remember that.
Elec Man is an androgyne. While to most he seems "male", they are most comfortable when they read as androgynous.
The "they like men" lightning round (gay/achillean): Snake man, Tundra Man, Crash Man, Air Man, Freeze Man, Jewel Man, Crystal Man, Burner Man (there are likely a lot more but names escape me)
The "both? Both. Both is good" lightning round (bisexual): Fire Man, Quick Man, Acid Man, Toad Man, Elec Man, Blast Man (again, likely a lot more, but names are hard)
The "aesthetics are good and all, but what about personality?" lightning round (pan): Rock, Roll, Galaxy Man, Gemini Man, Star Man, Bounce Man, Top Man (see above, there's likely more)
The "love and intimacy are weird subjects" lightning round (aro, ace, aspec): Heat Man, Time Man, Block Man, Quint, Nitro Man, Enka, Proto Man, Shadow Man, Fuse Man, Dynamo Man, Bass (you get it)
Alright that's enough of a yap sesh. I'd go more into detail if given certain individuals but these should do for a scattered view of things.
