At many churches in Malawi, the church choir is the church youth group! Scott and Lorilee MacLean are excited to be developing devotional material based on the songs these choirs sing, to help young people grow in their faith and in their understanding of what they are singing. We plan to have worship conferences in 2024 and 2025 where these two devotional volumes will be rolled out. Our aim is to highlight indigenous music, disciple our youth, and provide opportunity to understanding more deeply the important role of worship in the spiritual vibrancy of the church.

The aim of Project 66 is to translate commentaries that encompass all 66 books of the old and new testaments. Pastor Yakobe is the main editor and translator and the NT commentary has been completed. The OT commentary will be in print in a few months. This resource is a priceless benefit to village pastors for whom English is not an option. Pray for Yakobe as he continues to produce helpful theological and discipleship materials for the village Christian and provides leadership for the many training ministries he facilitates.

Scott MacLean and Pastor Yakobe started Leadership Training Program (LPT) in 1998. In September 2023 Scott and Lorilee MacLean attended a graduation of students who completed the 62 pastoral training booklets called Train & Multiply (facilitated by SEAN) which LTP got the rights to translate about 20 years ago. We hope to partner with LTP to bring more grass-roots theological training to our brothers and sisters in Mozambique.

The aftermath of Cyclone Freddy is still stamped on the roads going into our area. This is just ONE challenging part. If this part of the road doesn’t get repaired in the coming months, it will be impassable this coming rainy season.
