          Constantine might not be his most favored partner but Hellboy could say one good thing about him, sort of things he handled were more up the investigator’s alley. No tights required. Give Hellboy a good monster to fight or a decent supernatural case to investigate, that was what he got with John. Demons, magic, the occult. They’d work a bit better as a duo if they didn’t have differing styles.

          "Alright, you got me here,” he grumbled. Left hand began searching his jacket for the half empty pack of cigarettes and lighter that was usually in his pocket. Bet he finished the pack before an hour had gone by. “Tell me you had a reason to wake me up on a weekend.”

 “I know; I’ve tried that a couple of times before – never exactly work out.” She’s not going to go into detail about it; rather doubts he would really care to listen. She certainly wouldn’t if their roles had been reversed in this conversation. Least she can drink away those memories with downing her second glass of whiskey for the night, glass landing on the table with a bit harsher of a thud than she intended.

" the bar was filled with the usual scummy regulars, which of course including mystique . it was mutant friendly, though, and that’s why she kept coming back --- it was the principle that mattered to her . scooting closer to her potential friend with an extra cigarette , she was not feeling the liquor kick in at all .

there’s a few places like this tim likes to comes to when he’s abroad , places that are slightly shady , whose clientele isn’t unfamiliar to him - it’s nice for people-watching , to find the occasional odd job ( or target ) - but tim’s found someone interesting today , as what’s left of his gin and tonic sweats on the bar . he’s . . . pretty sure it’s him ? it’s interesting how young he looks , tim will say , but he’s run into more than a few people who don’t age right . he probably shouldn’t be staring the way he has been , but , sue him , he’s curious .

passing the bartender the money for his tab , he pushes up from his chair and makes his way over to the blond man , nerves making him scratch lightly at the inside of his ring finger . tim can be a lot smoother than this , but that’s usually with jobs - this is more of a personal interest . “ excuse me - i don’t mean to bother you , but i was just wondering , are you , ah - are you johnny con-job ? ”

he’s about 85% sure this is the lead singer of a slightly obscure punk band that tim loves .
