Berat lacks an eye, has to wear an eyepatch, reason being bc of dealing with an ambush, his eye got severely damaged and had to be removed (unlike lazael’s that never got removed and can still be seen if he opens his eye).

Berat pondered on just retiring after such an embarrassing event, but never truly did ]]

[[ He’s very indifferent about what people think about him, he’s had way too many people try to make him feel bad about being a hybrid and shit, but he really can’t care about their opinion, sure, sometimes it does become annoying to hear the same thing, but it’s the repetition that is bothersome ]]

[[ Yes!! She’s very good at dancing, but very shy when it comes to it, for she thinks she’s “regular” and “not really that good”, she does enjoy dancing however! she just needs more confidence ]

[[ Depends on why he’s being calmed down, a lot of times music will do the trick, any music he likes will be enough to distract him and calm him down, physically, massage his back/shoulders or scratch the base of his horns and he’ll eventually relax ]]

[[ Berat… doesn’t actually need much! He’s easy to please, he does enjoy, however, walking through fields and nice forests, especially at night, nature is something he really, really enjoys! But overall just have a relaxin’ day with him and he’ll be rly happy ]]

Closet Monsters: Does your muse hide any aspects of their personality/life from others?

[[ Berat oftentimes hides his self hatred, something he’s felt from very young, this is due to all the bullying and hatred from other demons he’s gone through, oftentimes he won’t mention anything negative nor positive about himself, but with this said, it’s very easy to realize how much he doesn’t like himself, due to how self destructive he can be ]]

[[ time to explain how berat loses his eye and the consequences an stuff ]]

[[ so, let’s begin stating that hybrids are badly seen, they’re scum, people tend to want them dead, no exceptions, hybrids in amaexur are not common, and usually amaexur soldiers are treated badly if they have hybrid children, social pressure tends to make them abandon them or kill them, which adds more to the stigma on hybrids.

So to begin the story, Xaer was in Melobor, taking Keilar to his monthly checkup with Episuhr, Keilar was a youngling, would be around 4 y/o in human years, or 5 at most, upon being done and going out, kind of late too, Xaer sees Berat, who’s patrolling, and decides to join him, for the good ol’ days, despite Berat’s warnings.

Now, Xaer’s already badly seen due to, well, having a hybrid child, but also his beliefs on hybrids collide with other people’s, and the fact that his best friend is also a hybrid, well, yeah, it’s not taken well by a lot, so every now and then there’s a chance for him to get attacked, demons are assholes.

Berat, as well, oftentimes gets attacked and harmed, he manages to fend for himself however so it’s usually not terrible, it’s something he’s gotten used to.

Long story short, both get ambushed, Melobor at night being one of the most dangerous areas along with Ubromohn.

Berat however, is more concerned about Keilar than anybody, the last thing he wants is for this kid to have to deal with the unfairness of being a hybrid at such a young age, he wants to keep him safe, he tells Xaer to take his kid and go away, the ice demon of course hesitates, but after getting yelled at for a third time, he portals away, to get his kid safe and be able to go back to his friend and help him out, the closest safe spot being episuhr’s office

in that moment of distraction Berat had to yell xaer at, he sees a faint silver glow and tries to dodge, failing and getting his eye damaged.

Now, usually he takes hits relatively well, but let me tell you that eyes are really fucking sensitive, he kneels down in pain as blood streams down his face. the attack does not stop, when vulnerable, he gets ridiculed, insulted, spat at, berat keeps holding himself back, but it’s too much, dealing with centuries of the same does take a toll on him.

and he can feel his body burning, burning in anger, being grabbed by the head, slammed down, pulled again, kicked, even having fingers jammed into the fresh wound on his face, it triggered a defense mechanism, an he transformed.

the issue is, berat, unlike xaer, does not lose control upon transforming, he knew exactly what he was doing, yet he was still blinded by complete anger.

by the time help arrived, episuhr and xaer,  episuhr had to stop berat from continuing to massacre and rip apart the attackers. which is something neither of them had seen berat even dare do, due to him being a clean killer (neck snapping)

berat passed out after bein calmed down, and wakes up to having bandages and of course, an eye missing, he’s well aware of what happened, and extremely embarrassed of the situation, yet he refuses to tell exactly how it all went down after Xaer left.

and in the future, after he gets past that embarrassment, he still refuses to mention what that breakdown was all about, berat hates admitting that everything that happens due to who he is gets to him deep down ]]
