The Scarab x Reader Relationship Headcanons
• Hard on the outside, harder on the inside
• It takes a lot to break through their walls, as before you they’ve never been in a relationship, way too caught up with their job to think about romance.
• Once you do however, they are a very passionate if a little confused lover
• He has really bad anxiety so whenever you go on a date, he will spend hours before hand deciding what to wear and practicing pick up lines in the mirror.
• He can’t exactly kiss you in his true form, as his sharp teeth and mandibles will definitely get in the way, so he turns human to be able to kiss you and go out in public if your universe doesn’t have magic.
• You’re the only one that he doesn’t mind calling him “Scrabby”, he thinks it sounds much cuter when you say it
• They are a lot less (s)crabby at work now that they’re in a relationship, which is a relief to Orbo, Prismo all the other cosmic deities, who are genuinely glad that Scarab is so happy now.
• He doesn’t really live anywhere, as he usually just went from job to job without any breaks, so if you ask him to move in with you he will be very grateful to have a place to rest.
• Rarely sleeps, but when he does he buries himself in a blanket cocoon and makes a soft clicking sound like a cicada
• Loves shopping with you, although he doesn’t get paid for his work as he was just kinda…created to do it? If that makes sense? His favorite are clothes stores, he thinks human fashion is fascinating.
• They also don’t need to eat, so needless to say they are very bad at cooking. They will happily try any of your cooking though, turns out they have a huge sweet tooth so they also love baked goods.
• Hates visiting Fionna and Cake’s universe, he’s still salty about everything that happened but if you insist he will begrudgingly take you there. (You even manage to make him apologize to everyone for almost destroying their universe)
• Oh my god please introduce them to Dungeons and Dragons, they love to make OCs and will spend hours talking to you about each one’s tragic backstory and all their cool powers and weapons.
• Would never ever cheat on you, they are extremely loyal and you are the only one who has ever dedicated so much time to them, they could never betray your trust like that.
