This is 100% socks.

Ok, and some string for the warp.

Here’s how:

1. Collect approximately 100 old socks (next time I will count them). This is easier than you might think. Most of these are just from asking family, and also a stint cleaning student lodgings at the end of the year.

2. Wash them. Please.

3. Cut them into loops, ignoring the cuff, toe and heel. Stretch each loop.

4. Loop the loops together to make a mahoosive ball of yarn. I made shorter, colour-themed segments first, then chose an order, then joined all the shorter strips.

5. Weave on a peg loom.

Partner politely inquired if I intended to do anything about the stash monster and so I started a rug. 8mm hook, 3 strands at a time. Have already used up one bag of spare ends.

Also being supervised by a small void.
