Occasionally, I think back to about half a year ago (about a week before the Season 2 finale of Hamster & Gretel), when this guy on 4chan claimed the original idea was that Mordros would take Hiromi by the end of S2 and eventually turn her into the main villain of Season 3 (a development I REALLY don't like), which in turn would Kevin end up with Lauren.
Now of course, the guys of DisneyToonz/Owlphibia (who had received inside info about the cancellation of Hamster & Gretel) did state on Twitter that there were no plans to turn Hiromi evil and that S2 would've ended on a cliffhanger with Gretel being (not really) dead instead (although there was someone else that stated this WAS an initial plan they had as they've seen it floating on Instagram, but I couldn't verify it), but regardless, I am so glad that this didn't end up happening. Making Hiromi an evil villain is a REALLY forced way to break up Kevin and Hiromi (a perfectly fine relationship if "Game Changer" and "Trading Faces" indicate anything), and have Kevin and Lauren be endgame instead. Even moreso than how Kevin and Hiromi were torn away in "Exclamation Strikes Back". That alone already felt like they couldn't find a believable way to break up Kevromi and decided to let outside circumstances that neither Kevin nor Hiromi could do anything about to do so, but this supposed plan is ten times worse because this would've also let outside circumstances that neither of them could do anything about to make Hiromi irreversibly evil for no good reason! If your plan was to make Laurevin endgame instead, at least don't let Hiromi's friendship with Kevin and Fred in vain!
And yes, I also mentioned Fred; because I also don't see how turning Hiromi evil would benefit the Firomi shippers in any way, either. I've noticed that a LOT of people that ship Hiromi with Fred instead were looking to ship Kevin with another girl so he wouldn't feel bad, and IMMEDIATELY jumped on the Laurevin ship as soon as that ship became apparent, so I'm fairly confident that a lot of Laurevin shippers also ship Firomi. Now, I'm fairly sure that even if Hiromi turned evil, Kevin would still try to pursue a relationship with her, whereas Fred thinks more logically and wouldn't even give him the chance to get close to her or vice versa (similar to how Kevin thinks about telling Hiromi about H&G's secret identity in "Miss Direct" while Hamster, Gretel and Fred are all completely opposed and think it's too risky with her close association with Ms. Knight). If Kevin gives up on Hiromi in favor of Lauren, that likely means he believes Hiromi would be beyond redemption and no longer worth pursuing, and that would definitely count for Fred threefold. It would simply be illogical for Fred to go against her logical side and try pursue a relationship with an evil Hiromi, especially if Kevin won't. That's why this whole evil Hiromi idea wouldn't only completely ruin Kevromi, but Firomi as well. Neither shippers of these would benefit from turning Hiromi evil at all, ONLY the Laurevin shippers would. And if you ship Laurevin because you ship Firomi, is turning Hiromi into a main villain REALLY worth it?
So that's why I'm so relieved that this idea either got scrapped very early on, or was never real to begin with. However, if it actually was a real scrapped idea, it would've at least resolved SOMETHING that bothered me quite a bit in the Season 2 finale: namely, the aliens' claim that Kevin and Hiromi becoming a couple would doom the planet.
It's not that the aliens revealed this AFTER they got together (frankly, it's actually quite in-character for them to not reveal any important information until much later). Rather, it's how the two events even correlate with each other to such a degree. But with the scrapped evil Hiromi idea in mind, you could believe that the aliens genuinely believed that Hiromi herself would be at risk if she and Mordros came close, and that Mordros could turn her into a far more formidable villain than they could ever dream of. Still though, I'm super glad everything still turned out well and Hiromi is completely fine.
Btw, the same 4chan anon also claimed there was a fake "fuck you finale", that DisneyToonz/Owlphibia DID hear from their insider (adding a bit more credence to the scrapped plot).
